Happy new year

People are still wishing me a happy new year even though it was a fortnight ago. I'm not complaining, I think it's nice of them. But how long after Jan 1st would be too long to wish someone a happy new year ? 2 weeks ? 3 weeks ? A month or more ?

The old Welsh new year was yesterday. So it some areas particularly Welsh speaking ones today would be acceptable
