How do you see things
Jump to: Newest in thread
I tend to stubbornly see things in just black and white, my rational brain is forefront and takes over mostly on my opinions...
(Yes I am on a spectrum)
Are you black and white, with shades of grey or rocking the multi coloured rainbow on your opinions?

Life is a broad spectrum of grey with black and white on the ends. Very rarely are things as black and white as they may first seem. I always look at the bigger picture and think about things deeper than how they appear on the surface.

Sometimes I'll be a little stubborn and only see something one way or another. Generally though I can take a step back and view things from multiple angles and get the brunt of the picture in multicolored high definition |

I tend to find a very specific grey to follow. When you're being called a Nazi and a snowflake in the same conversation I reckon it's likely you're seeing a reasonable middle ground!
But when, for example, a friend is a cunt to me, things get very black and white and they can just fuck right off forever. Things can get very simple. |

"Multi coloured. I infuriate my friends with my ability to see things from all sides.
I'm banned from siding with their partners in a conflict. "
Seeing all sides, or being a contrarian for the sake of it? |

"Eeeerrrrmmmmm.... I guess I'm a multicolored rainbow.
My opinion usually depends on my mood."
Female half very black and white, male half however is very emphatic. |

I see multiple perspectives but I make certain decisions very quickly based on beliefs and feelings. Others I weigh up the different pros and cons analytically. I can be seen as indifferent because I see the relativistic nature of different perspectives and inconsistent because new information can change my opinion or different circumstances means I may choose a contradictory value to guide my action or decisions.
I guess I’m a murky rainbow. |

"Nothing in life is ever black and white. But pretending it to be so makes decision-making appear easier."
I agree. Accepting that things aren’t just black and white is a good step to resolving conflict |

On some things I'm very black and white (I'm not sure if it's the Aspie part or just me nowadays). Say for example someone says they are going to do or not do something. I take that as gospel and believe in that. I get upset when I find out that it's not quite the case which is a bit daft. I always ask for clarification about a particular aspect if I'm unsure which is a learned behaviour.
I try and remember that life is far more complex and complicated with intent muddled up with actions. Still working on remembering that. |

I see shades of grey, same with most of my siblings to be honest. A close family friend once remarked that we hardly supported each other in conflicts. We had to explain that we didn't take sides, we just followed the better argument |

Kaleidescopic, multidimensional, sentience. My heart and instincts rule alot of my decision making and sensing. I see things often from the bigger picture and as a result I can be an annoying fence sitter seeing all sides.
Good for compassion levels and a bit of analytical dialogue though x |

I think it depends on the situation and the matter at hand. In theoretical arguments I will usually endeavour to see the different aspects of a discussion, look at the shades in between, then I usually come down on one side or the other based on my own moral compass. In a practical situation, I'm usually far more pragmatic and endeavour to be less emotional.

That is sensible thinking and yes emotions can cloud or enhance logical thinking |

I try to see light and shade in all things but I'm very literal.
My father is very black and white in how he sees things and simply cannot understand how it could be different. I've spent many hours trying to persuade him that something can be achieved or that he needs to take a certain action. |

Lol it is. Luckily we have a great relationship and we can argue in a good way. He's unable to pick up on social cues, very resistant to certain changes and often very focused on one particular thing so we have lots of "discussion" |

It's like a 100 reflections of a black & white rainbow, but mirrors hide in different dimensions.
Coins have more than 3 sides but I much prefer to look at things the way you look a diamonds, so many facets ,from different perspectives you see different light, to truly see what's inside you need a good look around .
