"Do you get on with your neighbours?
Have they become like family friends or can't you stand them and would move to get away from them?"
Say hello ask how they are if we feel like it but thats as far as it goes
Keep ourselves to ourselves no drama that way |

I had really great neighbours. She died and the family moved away.
We had barbies in the summer, I/they were good for a cup of sugar. They were really good people. Now I have someone I hardly see, which is also good in it's way. |

That's the thing with getting to know people, it can create drama.

"My neighbour is a really close friend. We were friends before I moved in.
That sounds good fun "
It is, you'd have be good friends to live here.
My house is in her garden and her dining room, kitchen and bedroom window look directly into my garden. |

Just as well you're friends. Could you imagine it if you weren't, being so close would be awful. |

Thirty years in this house. I know the people on one side well enough to say hello to; I know the people on the other side well enough to totally ignore them. I did say hello to the people across the street when they moved in about ten years ago, but have no idea what their names are.
It's a quiet little community... |

Had to move once, neighbours from hell , but current ones are friendly and helpful , there is a private Facebook group for our little area so you get a lot more interaction, trade and people helping each other out regularly. |

I consider myself lucky in that everyone in my close gets on fantastically well. I've thought about moving a couple of times, but wouldn't risk moving somewhere where I may not get great neighbors |

I have lovely neighbors. The old man next door is questionable but harmless enough.. The 2 families behind are great people. Our 4 houses are like a mini community. Last year when we were broken into it was my neighbours who spotted the smashed window. They were so helpful and kind. They also hold Chinese new year, they make us feel very welcome and the food is incredible. They dig out cars in the snow, assist my sons who get home before I do if needed and are usually on hand if I have an emergency! I don't have much family so to me this means the world. |

Our closest neighbours are 2 miles away so we don't have any problems at all.
I would probably struggle if I moved to somewhere with neighbours, I would have to keep the noise down and I would have to remember not to open my curtains when totally naked! |

Was fairly friendly with the flat opposite ours primarily as she used to ask me to cat sit and I prefer animals to people but she works away now and rents the flat out. Theres 5 other flats in our block. 2 couples we exchange pleasantries. The woman down stairs is seriously fucking rude (and that's from someone who is quite anti-social) and the others I wouldn't recognise if my life depended on it |

Immediate neighbours one side great,Retired couple take parcels in, put bins out when I forget, keep an eye on house when not there, other side just pass time of day, couple of doors away are a lovely Polish couple who make porno films.Further up the close are a couple of "Petrol Heads" who I get on well with and in the block of flats overlooking the Close is a woman whom I met on here and with whom I have had a couple of meets. All in all a nice set up. |

When I was married we moved next door to a lovely older couple, the day we're moved in they brought us a cake over and offered to look after the kids. They were totally fantastic, used to make up a bag of sweets and pocket money each week for the boys when they were younger. He adored our dogs to the point that when we landscaped our garden part of the specification was to have a proper path for the dogs to run over to the wall where he would fuss and feed them as they wore a groove in the old lawn.
He loved his gardens and fish pond and I'd help when needed - eventually when managing front and back gardens became too much I paved the front for them. He passed away followed by their two oldest children leaving only the youngest who had little time for his mum - to be fair she could be a cantankerous old lady at times, the type to call the police because someone had dared to park outside her house. My ex wife used to go and sit with her every day so she wasn't alone and then we would visit her in a home when eventually she couldn't manage the house.
Looking back I have nothing but fond memories and it's made me sad typing this - they were the only neighbor's who have become really close to me, the rest have ranged from a friendly natter every now and then to banging on their front window at 7am because they've parked over my drive again and I couldn't get to work. |

Close to my neighbours in that we have nice conversations, help each other out readily, have at least one annual get together in the road and look out for each other. However we live our own lives and can go for periods of not chatting to each other because we’re on different timetables. We don’t socialise together as a rule except for get together. I would really miss the current group if they moved, especially our nearest neighbours. |
