"50 is the new 40 and I'm having a great time.
See that’s what I’m thinking. I might be at the end of my 40s but I still like I’m in my 30s. I’m actually looking forward to turning 50 "
Turning 40 was a new beginning for me. I felt better then I ever have. More energy, happier, healthier.

A positive Fiddle, glad to hear it
A "positive fiddle" is that one that comes with a happy ending? "
Surely all positives have a happy ending |

Same as you spurs, I turn 50 next January and I am so looking forward to it! Already planning 2 parties and my son is taking me for a weeks clubbing in Ibiza!
I love this attitude that life is really just starting around this age! It certainly feels that way for me anyway!

Birthday month twin
Next year my 50th day will be a quiet family one as also my mum’s 70th on the same day
The rest of the year to be seen. I’m planning at least two holidays, one with 10 school friends and the other to be decided
As for clubbing you will have a blast. I went out Friday, got home at 06.30 up and out mid afternoon again. However the 30 somethings I was with couldn’t get out of bed Saturday... lightweights.
It’s all just a number you are as young as you feel Peach, and as you say life does seem to be starting again xx |

54 here and feeling younger than I did 10 years ago. I know it’s a cliche, but how old we feel is often as much about attitude and mind set as it is the actual years on the clock. |

Not cliche at all, I agree it is definitely attitude and the way you look at life. |

Agree totally - I'm the same age and feel a lot better about myself physically than I did 10 years ago - 10 years ago I didn't really care to be honest which had me heading towards XXL-dom and an ever expanding waistline, since I halted that feel a lot better about myself

Yorkshire - but we travel a lot |
Some lovely positive outlooks on this thread, lovely to read. Mrs Y and I don't really feel any different in our minds, we are still as naughty as ever! In the last year we've been lucky enough to play with folks in their 30s to their 60s, and all were brilliant |

Im nearly 55 and i have slowed down a lot but in a good way i no longer need or want to do the things i used to do. I like a quiet easy life. Ive got the regular guys i see. Im in a wonderful contented relationship and the menapause has been and gone. Life is good |

Imo think it’s a matter of outlook - like any other age over 30 I guess?
The way I look at it - I went from looking not bad for someone in her fortifies to bloody amazing for someone in her fifties!
The downside is the arthritis, the dodgy back, and the menopause - which seems to mean I pile weight on if I so much as sniff food!
My tits are still bigger than my waist line though - and my sex drive is still definitely there - and no sign of a dried up fanny yet - so pretty good on the whole! |

I hear a lot of this 50 is the new 40, 40 is the new 30 etc, tbf it's the 20 year olds having to see how many gobstoppers they can fit in their mouths and playing trippy-up bulldog who possibly get the best deal...

Now in my fifties, I feel good as hell. Having my own little sexual awakening and it's great. The menopause is a bit of a bugger, but fighting it well and I will get out the other side soon. If only I had the figure I had in my 20/30's but hey I can't have it all. Loving life at present. x |

Well I cant honestly say i'm fit as a fiddle but that's not due to age, more accidents when younger.
I wake up everyday & rarely do I feel i'm in my forties let alone late fifties, but then my homelife is different to many my age.
Sometimes i'm jealous of the freedom having grown up kids gives you guys but then I take a look back at what & where I was between 20-35 & realise many of the things you are doing now I did then when single.
I am glad we didn't have boys though as my broken bits couldn't be doing with all the football & sports stuff.
Overall i'd say life is good though & a few might say "Lucky bugger" with H being younger (Our GF is several years younger than H). But I don't see myself as being 58 in a couple of months, most of the time I don't even see myself as being an adult

Well I’m fitter, healthier and more content now than I was in my younger years. I was able to stop denying my sexuality and embrace it. I embraced the baldness and shaved my hair off and look better as a result than for the 20 years when I thought it was worth keeping the last vestiges of it. I’m more comfortable in my body than I’ve ever been and for the first time in my life think I’m actually quite sexy. I doubted it for the majority of my life despite evidence from time to time to the contrary. I also have enough life experience to be able to offer a friendly ear to those who need someone to talk to about stuff. |

Menopause

Haha love it, although...
Wrinkles are laughter and life lines
I’d send my tits somewhere warmer like Cape Verde

My forties were really crap, nearly lost the business, lost the house and seriously ill for a couple of years.
I had a fantastic 40th party but as they were rubbish I couldn't see the point of celebrating my fifties so I just went out for a meal with some friends.
My fifties have been ace so far, still nearly 5 years to go and so so far business is OK and I'm feeling positive about it, I've motorcycled across Asia 3 times, won 2 motorcycle race championships and feeling healthier and fitter than ever.
My sex life is also doing ok |

Yeah, But i'm only saying the good stuff, lifes shit sometimes & I really do feel for Stella. We almost get Xmas cards from the big C as one of our kids will have it hanging over her for the rest of her life, so it's not all a bed of horny women,
I'd become a monk tomorrow if it meant our eldest (12, 9 yrs in remish, still visiting GOSH) didn't have it when younger, but life goes on you do what you can to make it easier to deal with. Still shit ourselves every time she gets ill though

30s was amazing fun fun and more fun
40s lots of fun and good memories fun all the time
50s Had to rediscover who I was and wasn't too pleased with result overall . Now accepting my faults and just getting on with things . Not much fun at all
Not daft enough to think I'm 20 anymore or to try and spend hours in gym to get be physically fit as what I used to be . There are too many ' oldest swingers in town' on here . No need is there ! Getting old means you become content and the body gets old too doesn't it ? There's danger I might lose wanting new things or exiting experiences but a lot of the time when people are saying I need to go to / see/ experience etc the truth is I just CBA .
Warm fire ,the dog and a good single malt seems far easier most of the time these days
So I will most probly be doing that as I get older and leave the adventurous stuff and & 50 is the new 30' lot to it tbh

Totally life is never perfect, bed of roses.
Sorry to hear about your eldest, tough start to life and long may her remission continue.
C is unfortunately one of those awful diseases that we all get touched by at some part in our life, either directly or indirectly, it’s a hard one to deal with and we just have to do the best we can and keep fighting. It’s amazing the strength you find when you need to, to try and stay positive
S xx
