Chosen charity

Yorkshire

A few days ago I donated towards a fabbers ‘JustGiving’. A worthy cause.

Imagine you won a competition to donate a million pounds to a chosen charity.

That man had his reasons for choosing his specific charity and I know whom mine would be.

Who would YOURS be??

Manchester (she/her)

I won't name it, but it's the charity I do voluntary work with. It would make a phenomenal difference to the kind of work the charity could do for the vulnerable people in the community.

If I have to name a charity, I'll probably say the National Autistic Society or the Samaritans.

It would either have to be a cancer charity for finding cures or for children with additional needs as both are close to my heart

"The air ambulance "

The Dorset and Somerset air ambulance, I work in a high risk profession in very rural locations.

I have friends and family who have had life saving interventions from this service.

I like the idea of Camfed too, so so many charities that deserve support but if I was spending that sort of money I would want it to have the biggest impact. Lord knows places like hospices deserve immense praise, and I volunteer for another type of charity altogether but feel that if we want to make the world a better place we need to put more effort into dealing with causes not just coping with effects. It'd certainly be a question I'd think long and hard about and would absolutely want to know the money was having the biggest possible effect, not paying inflated salaries.

An animal charity. We already sponsor a dog with the Dogs Trust hate to see animal abuse of any kind.

Split it between several dog rescues I already support, buy them food, blankets etc monthly and drop it off.

One rescues racing greyhounds, another dogs used for fighting, a few general rescues.

Dogs are amazing, the love they give to a complete stranger when I visit is incredible.

If I could I'd have all of them.

On a mooch

I’d split it between The Air Ambulances and a charity that looks after children with terminal illnesses and their families, try and make their final moments together memorable
