Totally dependent on what your looking for. There is so much to do in Birmingham.
Vanilla else there is hundreds of pubs and clubs. The shopping is immense, head to grand Central and the bull ring.
Worth going to the bar in Marco Pierre whites at the top of the cube for views of the city - the food is crap don't eat there.
Museums there is back to back houses. Think tank. There is ice rink,. Cinema. Bowling. Ghetto golf
For non vanilla there are sex cinemas, plenty of adult shops but the club's within Birmingham it's self are hostess clubs so I would avoid, your better to go to chams in Wednesbury or xtasia in West brom |

There’s some great bars and restaurants around the business district and immediately outside the city centre is the Jewellery Quarter which has some very trendy and hip bars, it’s just a couple of tram stops from the shopping area. |

Thanks guys & gals. I'm not sure what type of things I'll be doing yet but it's a weekend business trip.
TBH, I'm not a fan of the traditional "clubbing" would be rock/acoustic bars most likely.
How's the transport from airport area into Birmingham? |

Trains to and from the airport pretty regular.
Venue wise:
Hare & Hounds Kings Heath has good music scene. Saw Miles Hunt do and acustic set ther not long ago.
Sun on The Hill - Though Sunday is best for live music.
Lots venues in and around Digbeth - Mama Roux’s, springs to mind.
Probably best to check out when you get here and see what's on. Hope you have great time.

Actress and Bishop in thee Jewellery Quarter is(or used to be) good for rock and indie bands and dancing downstairs. Usually heaving though.
Night owl for fantastic soul, indie, northern soul, rock dancing if yyou fancy clubbing.
Hare and hounds good for blues sessions, rock /indie/modern jazz and tributes. |

Live music will be very hit and miss as will how busy the bars will be obviously dependent on which evenings you are attending. Instead of broad street wander off onto the canal towpath by the symphony hall and try some of the canal side bars. The Irish centre in digbeth ( only a five minute walk from the bull ring ) is sometimes worth visiting and can be quite lively. |
