Probably somewhere in between when it comes to dating. Interest should grow over time. If someone is too keen too early it's a bit off putting as it usually means they're really into the idea of you rather than the actual you as they don't really know you yet. It's then a lot of pressure to live up to the ideal they've created in their head. |

"Depends what you mean by showing interest. I don't like people to be too full on really quickly, but if they don't show any, I will move on." Yes it was advice on dating and the beginning of a relationship with someone.

Yes - it's like this pinnacle of daftness. I want to be treated like a human. Too little interest and I lose interest. I just like things to be relaxed and enjoyable and actually get a chance to know them. |

Long gone are the days that I care what I "should" be doing.
You can never knowingly get it right and be successful everytime, so now I go at my own pace either they like it or they don't. It's on them to accept it or not, I have my own reasons for doing what I do and far too many other things on my mind to worry about it. |

Wait... I'm confused..
Is the question a case of making sure they know you are interested initially and then the speed at which that interest grows
OR
Finding somebody and then at what point do you shown interest, sooner or drag it out?
Because if its the former fair enough.
If its the latter surely its a simple yes you let them know you are interested from the start.
Dragging that initial interest out is just a dangerous game of them thinking are they interested or not. |

"I can't be arsed with games if someone likes me I want to know. Life is too short
damn right."
Perfect answer, if you play games your only asking to lose |

I want people to be themselves and go with what they're feeling. I'll have my response accordingly. Love upfront, with a bit of humility and curiosity. Anything goes when met or delivered with warmth and honesty. I appreciate it when someone is intense and takes risks and I appreciate when people are slow burning too. I can go either way. Not being afraid to communicate is attractive. Presence. |

Everyone’s different
The last man I was intimate with showed interest quickly, but it soon faded.
I like interest to remain , not wane after the horizontal shenanigans |

Just being honest and nice! What’s up with the self deprecating defence mechanism? |

There and to the left a bit |
I think it very much varies from person to person, with some I've met it's been a slow burner where mutual interest grows over time, with others it's been fairly immediate from the get go where we've just "clicked" from that first message - the only constant has been that regardless of how the interest came about we've taken some time to chat and get to know each other better before meeting |

I like both tbh it depends on the person and situation we are both in at the time |

That is good way of seeing it, as you get to know the person more by taking the time rather than to quick and not know so much about them |

I've been burned aa few times by this, occasionally byy being too eager too quickly (as in we're getting along over many texts ut does she see me as amusing, or as aa friend, so attempting to speed it up subtley andd getting a negative, or no response), or taking the slow burner approach and they lose interest.
Honest, no fear communication from both sides is key. Too many things can be misinterpreted otherwise and then everyone's frustrated.
Grr. |

It does seem to depend from person to person how quick it moves along, that is purely down to the connection, how the conversation naturally flows etc. But if they come on to strong, to full on, talking about the future has me running a mile |
