It's the effect of the long-term climate change. It's most noticeable in the already extreme climates.
In Australia it has dried everything out to record levels, and then when it sparks, just about all of the country is highly flammable :/ |

Bushfires are part of the life cycle in the Australian ecosystem, but not like this. Climate change, certainly.
Lightning/ other accidents. Cigarettes out car windows/ recklessness. Deliberate human actions. |

I’d not seen that. I suspected such but it’s not been reported here. That’s often the case in France. |

Fake news.
The climate-deniers took every fire attributed to fire-raising in the course of the whole years and re-invented them as the cause of the current catastrophe.
The police have issued a statement dismissing the reports as fake.

Discussing what started them is pointless. And distracts from the real issue which is why are they spreading and why are they so intense. And as others have said that's down to climate change.

Indeed, there are multiple reasons. This time around it has been a perfect storm for what has happened |

Yes, it's also down to the lack of preparation and precautions ignored or neglected. |

Idiots setting some of the fires |

Green policy introduced about ten years ago meant that the controlled burning during colder and wetter months in winter was no longer allowed therefore generating more fuel for wildfire season. Folks who cut down trees near their houses were heavily fined for doing so even though they were creating a fire break.
Australia has always been a dry and hot country. The hottest temperatures on record (the record that the mainstream media show people) are lower than the time of the federation drought of the late 1800's through to 1910....before range rovers and trump were invented. GO GREEN AND SAVE THE AUSSIES!! |

Yeah I know a few people too. As I say it is a perfect storm for the chaos to start and continue as it has. Both natural and human caused. |

If the mainstream media that are reporting on this tragic event would interview real people instead of scripted activists then the world would know the proper story. By real people i mean bushmen, farmers and local families who have lived on the land for many generations and know more than a thing or two about managing the land.
I have family and ex colleagues living and working down under and they are saying the same thing..
Forest and bush management using fire in colder days is an important part of management....you don't need me to provide sources about what is and should be a natural cycle. |
