When did "Munch" become the reserve of BDSM? We have been using that term since we started swinging to denote a social either with food provided or at a place where food is available! Most of the sites we are on organise munches at times and always have! First one we went to was back in 1997, before the internet took over from books!
But if you want it, you can borrow it! lol |

I believe the first BDSM meeting publicly held was in a place called 'Burger munch' so thats where the term comes from

I haven't been swinging for that long and don't really know what all the different terms mean, but I have heard the word 'Munch' used for a social gathering for people to chat, and it didn't come across as only reserved for BDSM people.

It's where the term started... a few other swinging sites nicked it. |

Well the term BDSM is relatively new and its still not clear what it it encompasses. I know that the 4 letters stand for 6 words but really anything out the vanilla side of life kind of gets put under the title these days. So maybe even swinging comes under the title now.

A munch was developed on the fet scene for a social event where you didnt dress up...
I always found it confuing that other swinging sites called socials munches and socials, i can see originally that someone may have liked the idea of a munch being none play though.
If i remember correctly the faqs of a certain pay site used to say a munch was a non play event in a vanilla environmental and a social could be in a club.
So the newcastle socials are munches but pussy parties are socials,
It is generally accepted by everyone i know in both scenes that just like vanilla it is a word that has spread from the bdsm scene.
