I do love a hidden closet racist ( most people on here ) but I appreciate the blunt racist like I have witnessed today  .
But hey wait, what actually happened you ask ? Well I'm glad you asked handsome stranger..
So I work at a Premier vehicle dealership, I got asked by a customer that their light bulb needs replacing I said not to worry we can take care of that for you, minute in the conversation she asked me is there anyone that can fit it for me please ( as though I cant do it cause I am a Woman, lol i said yeah no worries I'll fit it for you to what she replied urm yeah sure but can that guy fit it ?
I said who Chris ? She said if that is his name yes please, to that I thought oh okay maybe she knows him so I said oh you know Chris, she said no ? Why do you say that, then I said I'm sorry I thought you knew him it's why you wanted him to fit the light bulb, she then dropped the bomb shell and said no because hes White  ?
Excuse me madam ? Cause he is white, could a white guy serve me please to which I giggle and laughed and said yes ofcourse no problem at all to which one of my colleague overheard the conversation and completely put a stop to the transaction called security and asked to have her escorted out the showroom.
I was not shocked nor was I feeling offended, I simply just laughed. I then said to my colleague and my manager that it was not a problem I was happy to serve the customer till the very end.
It was then she said the classic line it's my preference LOL I'm not racist LOL and I remembered Fab and most profiles on here state that.
Is there a difference guys and girls ?
I'm not bothered I'm not angry and I'm definitely not feeling anything about it, I just wanted to know people's opinions
P.s it was a good day, I still took her money, they refused to fit the light bulb and it was me who fitted the bulb and wished her a good day after.
What would you have done ?

You know OP, I really wanted to read all of your post and give my humble opinion. However I have issues, I freely admit, with your statement that most people on here are closet racists. You’re entitled to your opinion of course, but seeing there’s about 40,000 online users I would love to see your evidence. |

I was not shocked nor was I feeling offended, I simply just laughed. I then said to my colleague and my manager that it was not a problem I was happy to serve the customer till the very end.
It was then she said the classic line it's my preference LOL I'm not racist LOL and I remembered Fab and most profiles on here state that.
Is there a difference guys and girls ?

I agree.
Calling most people closer racists when you don’t know most people on here is ridiculous.
Many people do have race preferences on here, and no doubt about it some are racists, but not all.

You can’t compare the two tbh.
Having sex with somebody is completely different to being served by someone who is equally as professional as the next person with white skin.
If I choose to have sex with only black women due to preference, but I treat everyone the same in all other aspects of life, then I don’t see the problem.
To have an issue with a professional serving you for no other reason than the colour of their skin is different. But this scenario didn’t happen did it mate. |

I don’t see preference and racism as the same thing. This thread has been done to death. I don’t meet South Asian men.
Does that make me me racist to those who are the same race?
No one needs to justify anything but I’ll justify myself as some people think there are NO OTHER reasons than racism.
I was brought up in a very religious household and religion was the centre of my world. All the people in my community were south asian and religious. So the thought of playing with a south asian guy just brings up religion in my head and all the things I heard over and over for my whole life (gays are bad, lesbians are bad, sex before marriage is wrong, etc etc). For me its psychological. I just can’t get in the mood for sex because of all those associations.
Yes there are racist people in the world. Yes there will be racists here on fab. But if a racist approaches you in real life you may say something back and then what? As you said the with the lady in the store; you just moved on! Same principle applies here. Just move on.
If someone says its a preference. Well my day job is to determine the reasons for behaviour and to predict future behaviour. I can’t be arsed trying to understand others when the knowledge neither benefits or harms me. Why do i need to concern myself.

The car was in the parking bay, I had already finished taking the payment when she said that, she was not pushed out the building, or any fruit or salad was thrown at her at the moment of time, I'm paid to do a job, I blank the rest out to be honest if it offended me I would stop serving her and get someone else to do the transaction but I wanted to try my patience and see what I would of done and I think I handled it pretty well.
No1 asked why she made that comment, my manager said it was absolutely unacceptable and he wouldn't hear it in his department and said please leave, I said I'll see a job till the end and I done so, I didnt make eye contact with her when she stood next to me, got the job down and said there you go it's all done madam and proved a valid point that I was much bigger then her pathetic comment and her bigotry way of thinking.
Perhaps I tried to win her over but hey ho |

I think choosing who you sleep with is nothing like what you experienced today.
What a piece of shit to do that. I don’t run a customer facing business but if any of my staff experienced something like that their money and person would not be welcome anywhere near my business. |

Yeah I didn't like to mention that weird bit either. Although as a good friend of mine is a female mechanic plenty of people assume she isnt qualified or capable of doing even the most minor work |
