This Friday evening with work... Awesome, I do love getting my dickie out!
Alas... The dickie is lost... I now have a slim black tie and look like I may be attending a funeral!
Who else loves black tie events and when was your last? Good cause or work event? |

I love it. Always have two bow ties. One clip in, then later in the evening swap it for a tie up, untied around your neck, and top bottom undone. And remember no removing the jacket until you’ve toasted the Queen with the port... |

"Never been to one but have had a 'posh' works do for Christmas that I had to get proper dressed up for. I loved it. I even got a spray tan for it so I didn't look like the ghost of Christmas x"
Haha did make me chuckle... No spray tan for me!! |

I do enjoy a black tie event, I brought a new dinner suit in the sales a few days ago.
My job means that I go to around four formal dinners a year plus if I go on a cruise then there’s generally one formal dinner.
Maybe I just enjoy dressing up |

I've changed my bedroom around and misplaced it from my safe place! "

"My dads boxing matches were always at a posh hotel. Felt well fancy
I'd LOVE to do this... Something about the atmosphere and dressing up!! "
Awww I miss it so much (he now trains folk, he doesn’t fight anymore). Was so much fun, free wine, champagne, posh hotels. Just didn’t enjoy seeing him get hit |

I’m going to sound like I go to loads, I don’t. But had one just before Christmas, shocked everyone when I swapped the trousers for a black kilt, properly worn and geared up. Have to say was a very entertaining evening.
Kilts are fun, worn it to a beer festival and baseball game in the US become very popular for some reason. Lol |

I (Luke) have been to couple this year. The last one was the work Christmas do. I'm very pleased I bought a second-hand DJ from Moss Bros all those years ago. Compared with hiring it has paid for itself.
Here's a question for everybody on this subject. Do you have a proper bow tie you tie yourself or do you use an elasticated one? |

I enjoy it every so often. Went with friends to an Italian and Opera night at a local restaurant and my mate and I decided to wear tuxedos just for the hell of it. It did get quite a lot of comments |

They are fun. I did a charity event ball and we all dressed up
I couldn't do it too often though, the long skirt needed lifting up the stairs.
I do appreciate the tux and loose now tie look as well |

Went to a boxing event night recently. Wore a tux and bow tie. Felt good to look sharp, was a lot of fun, and the tie was def loose by the end of the evening. |

We have our works Xmas do in a couple of weeks and although it’s not a black tie event I do make the effort.
The last one was a year ago for a works award do. During the course of the evening I took my jacket off and it was never seen again.
So I have to get a new jacket and dickie |

We dint like them really , big events, awards and all that stuff is boring, we always get wasted in front of the wrong people. Last one was actually liberty elite which was nice though as we didn’t know anyone. We prefer a more informal gig with expensive presents on the ladies seats and speeches in a whisky / brandy bar where they hand out Cuban cigars and let you fill the place with smoke. Smart and classy but not dickies or silly jackets |

We go to our local Chamber Of Commerce awards which is optional black tie.
It's one of the few occasions in the year we do this, unless we're on a cruise when there are obligatory black tie evenings. |

My last place of Employment used to have Summer balls in very grand Hotels (attendance optional). Was great fun and the one time i went i did wear a proper ball gown. I felt like Cinderella going to the Ball.
They then stopped having them and that was it. |
