This entire time I've been cooking bolognese wrong. The original recipe states 3 hours cook time. 3 fucking hours, here I am with 45 minutes.

How long does your spag bol take to cook?

All depends on the depth of flavour you want to achieve.... Maybe one day, try the 3 hour version, and see the difference yourself.

La la land

Mine takes 3 hours, but it is worth it. Or I prepare it early in the day and leave it to slow cook for the day

Depends if I’m doing from scratch or using a jar.

From scratch takes longer but jar is just twenty minutes.

I don’t cook I eat out so it’s as long as it takes the restaurant to make it.

In the middle

I usually cook mine for at least two hours, just simmer it away on a low heat, never use ready made sauces, always prepare my own and just leave it to “mix n mingle” together, tastes epic

Anyone use Worcester sauce?

Mines pasta, Italian herbs, garlic, onions, peppers, red wine, beef or turkey mince, if I use turkey I add beef cube 1/2 to the mix

Always Worcester and ketchup rather than adding sugar against the bitterness of the tomatoes...

An hour on average but I like to make and reheat the next day as it has more flavour in the mince then.

Depends on the time I have available. If I have half an hour then I'll slap it together in half an hour. If I have all day then I'll let it simmer a couple of hours.

On a mooch

Can do a quick one in 30 minutes great for during the week. But it is better slow cooked over a long period of time or even better still make one day and eat the next.

On the hob it’s usually a couple of hours minimum. In my new instant pot I can do it in 15 minutes with similar results

Longer the better for a good ragu, even better if it is left overnight and reheated.
