Any people in my age range who watched it? An older friend recommended to me and i binged watched it through the holidays

Almost none of my peers heard of it. I'd say its timeless comedy.

Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em remains well-liked in our house, the first two series at least. The third lost it a bit. Never seen Porridge, though I vaguely remember sometimes watching Last of the Summer Wine with my mum when I was little.

Love the four candles sketch. The two ronnie's were one of a kind

The 70s really were a golden age of British situation comedies.

As well as porridge we had the likes of,Dad's Army,Fawlty Towers,Steptoe and Son,Bless this House,The Good Life to name but a few

As I said,a golden age of situation comedy

Of all the programs listed so far Porridge is by far the best, absolutely timeless.

Another one I think is great is What Ever Happened To The Likely Lads.

I remember Porridge when it was originally shown. It is very well written. I have watched dome recently and I enjoyed it although I did laugh much. I liked the banter between inmates and the scheming against the wardens.

Ronnie Barker, one of the huge names in British comedy history, said it was the best thing he ever did. He was a great comic actor.

My old school friend Martin used to live next door to him in Pinner but I never got to see him. My dad saw Ronnie Corbett in a shop there once too.

It was remade in the last few years I am surprised you didn't see the remake.

Another example of how great an actor Ronnie Barker was.
