I relocated there 5 years ago, left 6 months ago. I love London but I find it hard to live there.

A weekend won't give you a feel

If you are concerned about the difference to rural living, consider living outside and commuting in, it can be cheaper and not much longer timewise if you work centrally.

I used to have a base in London before I relocated to Wiltshire in 2006, and miss the city dearly.

People in London can come across as rather cold and unfriendly compare to country folks, keeping themselves to themselves.

However, the city has much to offer.

Good luck with the relocation.

I guess finding the right location to live would be a good start, somewhere near a tube station and night bus route would definitely be an advantage.

I had a shoe box of a flat, however, it was in a block of flats about 200m from the bus bomb in 2005, and I could walk to the West End in less than 30min passing the British Museum along the way.

Happy days!

I can't agree more I was working in Vauxhall at the time and was unable to leave work the day of the bombing.. great city however I had a studio flat that I was paying £600 a month for....
