Kicked in the dick vs childbirth

Was having a discussion last night (with a man) about childbirth and he said being kicked in the dick must be worse than childbirth because no guy would go through that pain and then much later on say oh let’s kick me in the dick again. That was in reference to women who go on to have other births.
Frustrates me so much!!
Like exactly how long does the pain last from a hurt willy and I’m sure of having your dick kicked was the only way you could have a child then obviously men would have to endure it.

It's a silly argument. You don't end up with anything after a kick in the nadgers. To get anything like comparable you'd have to be kicked for about nine hours and end up with something like a lifetime subscription to Sky Sports. |

As a man I can’t imagine how much childbirth hurts. From my ex wife she was in agony with our first, but after the fact she forgot about the pain, strange how the mind works.
Being kicked in the dick as you put it or balls as the most painful thing a man can remember the pain and would rather not have it done again.
To compare the two is not possible. |

Have you ever had kidney stones blocking your entire pluming? Now thats proper pain, can last for 5-10 hours and at some stage you just start asking people around you to do the humane thing and put you down |

Just find it a bit rude to have what I went through lessened by some guy who can never understand the pain.
You literally feel like your body is being ripped in half and it’s hours and hours of it! |

Totally agree with you, broke my coccyx giving birth. I was was in pain for months after. I didn't forget the pain was terrified going into labour a second time |

This I can relate to but with gall stones. When I was suffering with the pain of that, at it’s worst I would rather have given birth again 10 times (and I gave birth oh natural with no pain relief) than experience gall bladder stones again.

Kicked in the dick would be worse because you wouldn’t have pain relief on standby when it happened whereas with child birth you can have various pain relief.
For me personally, back pain was way more painful than giving birth. |

Oh you don't forget the pain, it just becomes unimportant the instant you see the little bugger that caused it all. |

"I wasn't even aware that it was a competition. Pain is a unique experience for everyone and I don't believe comparisons are even possible. "
This is actually true tbf, think it's because it's such an emotional time for women too. Giving birth was traumatic for me, I nearly lost my eldest child and I was in an operating theatre for hours after. So I think it's difficult when men are so flippant about it sometimes x |

Depends on the woman. I know one who both her labours were short and she said she'd rather have another baby than a filling. On the other hand I've counselled women who were genuinely traumatised by their childbirth experience and are terrified to ever go through it again. Some women die during childbirth and I know a few who came close. |

Yes. Before modern medicine it was the way a lot of women died. |

I think some blokes miss the point that with that great pain and effort comes immense joy and it's not a case of ever forgetting how arduous the process is, but looking forward to the delivery. |

Hmmmm. I've somehow made that sound like cricket commentary. |

Yes... I've not given birth, but I've suffered a medical emergency where the pain is compared to childbirth (worse than). The only positive was that they fixed it and I lived. It was a deeply traumatic experience I'll live with for the rest of my life.
If it's something you have to do to welcome a much wanted child... very different. |

Well done, that's impressive.
I think childbirth (and all types of pain to be frank) are things that you can't really truly understand unless you've been through it.
Every person has different pain thresholds, every birth story is different. For some, it's a simple, straightforward delivery, for others far more complicated. There's a sort of myth surrounding it that you can have pain relief on tap but that's very far from the truth. Dismissing the impact it can have on a woman (traumatic delivery, emergency assisted delivery even the complications that can ensue following) is daft.
And the poster above who said pain isn't a competition and not comparable? So true. |

Child birth is a strange thing. It is most painful things that a human willingly and lovingly inflict upon themselves more than once. After the first time your instinct takes over and suppresses how truely painful it was, that's right it was even more painful than you remember!
Compared to something like getting kicked in the balls, the brain remembers, and instinct reminds us not to do that again, no good comes from it... |

Hormones literally make you forget the pain or probably only seriously masochistic women would do it more than once. I got an infection in my uterus and that felt like labour except it lasted longer and I didn’t get any gas and air!! |

Yep and I know exactly what you mean. I would have quite happily been put down towards the end. |

I thought the contractions were bad enough.
And then when people are all chatty chatty to you like it’s nothing and you get the pain rage and cry out “LET ME BREATHE THROUGH THE PAIN IN PEACE YOU KNOBHEAD!!!” |

A kick in the nuts would probably be a bit of a surprise so instant pain.
Whereas at least with labour and childbirth you know you're going to be in agony and have your fanny torn to shreds so can mentally prepare yourself. No one told me about feeling like someone was holding a flame underneath me though so that I can liken to a kick in the balls.
It's like comparing apples and oranges, totally different.

This is the only bit I really remember the feeling of someone just having set fire to me and my not so polite words to the midwife, I apologised afterwards. |

Awful isn't it? I remember my midwife saying 'you've got to pant through this bit', I didn't have the energy to ask what she meant so it's a good job she showed me, lol. When my hubby started doing it I could've punched him in the face......Or kicked him in the balls |
