Having been told I'm a "hard bitch" I wonder if I use sarcasm too much and don't come across well to those who don't get it.

Do you think it's a problem on the forums in general?

Could we avoid more conflict if we avoided sarcasm?

I personally don't think that not using sarcasm will ever stop conflict. Be who you are and carry on girl.

(no sarcasm intended)

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

It usually takes someone with a sense of sarcasm to identify it for what it is and not interpret it as some insult or dig.

Don't change anything Op. Some people will naturally appreciate it and others don't. If anyone takes offence, that's their problem

Sarcasm is natural in some people and you've got to be true to yourself. Unfortunately, over t'internet, sarcasm comes across as 10 times stronger.

This is coming from a fairly sarcastic and cynical person that is also empathic and supportive (total paradox there - I know) and i'm working on being more aware of how my outgoing written communication is phrased.

On the internet if sarcasm is not stressed as I'm being sarcastic ho ho, then it just comes across as pure sarcasm.

Remember sarcasm without wit is like a shit house without shit.

I think if your sarcastic and someone takes it personally , youve hit a vulnerable spot , which is their problem , if they can see that , theyll go far , if not then sarcasm is a great filter !

I don't think being sarky makes you not care? Being sarky is an attempt at humour which is to make others laugh so obviously it's somewhat important what they think?

I guess there are those who are sarky in a dismissive way. One of those "don't give a fuck" types but that's not how I see myself.

I'm absolutely nothing like that, I'm as soft as marshmellows. I'd never say anything if I even thought it would hurt someone's feelings. I'm just a mouthy Londoner who doesn't want most people to know I'm a big softy

The saying goes 'sarcasm is the lowest form of whit' but I think that's bollox! I find most that don't like it are usually more easily offended and pretty thin skinned, though as long as it's not too personal. If you know someone pretty well then you know how to take it. It can also be more difficult to know how to read into something just by text...though good grammar helps! just my humble opinion!

Hey..... we are both very sarcastic and if the people we're talking to don't get it, they're not for us. It's part of our makeup!

We do usually end it with a 'lol' and see how the recipient responds.

Stay true to yourself. Don't change for anyone... who wants fun with someone who doesn't 'get you' ?? Not us! x
