I’m going to the Sounds of Summer in June and Festival of the 60s in December.
Anyone else going to either?

"I’ve done the 90s, but not the 80s.
Bands weren’t great when I went, mostly xfactor finalists
Regardless of the music they’re great weekends"
80's is the better weekend in my opinion, never managed to catch the madness tribute so that's on my list this year if they are there

I’ve heard the 70s are great
I usually do the December 69s as everyone is festive and in good spirits with it being the last one before Christmas - but it’s cold
I haven’t been to a June one for a few years, I’m hoping for some nice weather this time |

"we go for the music and have made plenty friends there over the years.
There’s loads of naughty fun for those that want it"
Is this from other fabs people who are there or just that everyone is all horny and in the mood? |

I know a couple who go to nearly all the 60s weekends. If you get the chance to meet and play with them it’s well worth it. Sexy little red head milf June and silver fox Derek |

First time I ever went with my oldest in 09, when he was 5, I didn't know until I was there that it was a 70s week.
Have been back several times with both my kids but not for the music.
They're now having more 'alternative' stuff too, aren't they. Chasing the grey pound. |

Remember we're going back 10 years now. It was a Monday to Friday and it was defo 70s themed.
Lots of tribute bands. We watched Abbamania (who were at Derby Assembly Rooms soon after that) and a Tina Turner tribute.
There were also some original bands on The Rubbetts and Sailor to name two. Didn't see any of them because they were on too late to be out with a 5 year old.
It was defo a 70s week. It was the first week they opened just before Easter. It's was the best hol there re. music in the evening. But I go for family hols with the kids not the music. |

"There is 70s experience on on 16th March, Monday to Friday.. He might have been on about that.. As family's can go to that one.. "
Is this this year? This would have been it 10/11 years ago It was the first time I'd taken my son away. Was £96 for the two of us, including food. I reiterate: I was oblivious to it being a 70s experience until we were actually there. |

They do adult music weekends over the year for people aged 18+ They’re great fun and can get pretty wild depending on the weekend
Midweek breaks are family breaks which means kids can go, sometimes they do themed midweek ones like rock and roll (great seeing everyone dressed up) and country (I might go to this one in September) - definitely not as much fun as the adult only breaks though |

Yes. There were some in 70s glam rock dress at the one I was at. As I say I go for family holidays. Weekends I'm either working and/or my kids are with me awwww. So 18+ isn't for me. |

Yes next Monday, well its 240 for the 3 of us including food, will make a change, as go to all the 00's weekends and going to 80's in September too |

Seems it must be an annual event then. 09 was my first time ever at Butlins. I had no desire to go until I had young children. Have been back several times with both the kids. Now 12 & 15 we might be going this summer.
I realize the adults only 'wild weekends' - which the op is about - are a different thing. I had some friends who used to go to the school disco ones. Not sure if they still have them?
Seems more bands now. Even 'alternative' weekends which would be my choice if ever I was able to go. Interesting discussion about the evolution of Butlins anyway. |

I saw yesterday that Butlins was still taking bookings. The June Sounds if Summer weekend I’m booked on hasn’t been cancelled.
I can’t see many people wanting to go as without the bars, clubs, food halls, cinema, bowling and fun fair there’s little to do other than head to the beach |

I don't think they have cancelled anything, you can still book to go this weekend (70s Skeggy)
I'm sure they would follow health and safety advice they need to, so it is so strange how they must have very different advice to theatres and other venues. |
