Musical backing tracks as you are reading your Kindle and letting your imagination create "your" full colour pallet... And they want to put their muzac into the programme...
WHY...!! |

How would this even work? How would it match to the pace of your reading? Sounds ridiculous to me. I can't listen to music and read at the same time - I prefer to give full attention to either. |

This is a proposal, reported on radio 4 yesterday, that the next generation of Kindles could include speakers and the publishers idea of back ground muzac to genericly accompany the chapters.... |

I have various audio books for long car journeys... If they added muzac it would go out of the window...
Do we have to have tinkling trash behind everything now? |

Nick Cave's 'The Death of Bunny Munroe' has a little bit of mood music.. not all the way through, but I think it added to it but then he is the musician as well as the auther so it's his idea of the experience...and that was a talking book
However, I can't see it working with a 'written' word version ie: Kindle... the music would have to be on a loop wouldn't it? till it knew you had moved onto the next page/chapter? Sounds like a rubbish idea to me |

It strikes me as the kind of obvious idea that comes up over and over again. No doubt there was once a marketing idea to sell an accompanying soundtrack cassette for paperback books... |
