I think they're all much the same tbh. UKIP is a one policy party and that's to drag us back to a time that has passed. Whether we like it or not we're a multi-cultural society and our links to other countries are unbreakable because of the vast amount of foreign nationals that have made their homes here.
Having said that, a party that determined to put Britain first before committing overseas aid would go a long way to securing my vote, but they'd have to have that written into some sort of constitution as so many politicians have promised so much and delivered nothing. A party that promises something before an election and then deliberately breaks that promise is guilty of winning by deceit as far as I'm concerned and that should be a criminal offence. |

No matter who gets in they will need a minimum of 5 years to right some of the wrongs and clear a tiny percentage of the mess the last lot made.

What policies in pearticular appeal and what makes you think that they would be much better in government than the 3 main parties? |

Reading this thread made me look up the North West member for Ukip.......
On reading what he says about several issues I hope to Fugg they never get in.
Paul Nuttall : January 26, 2011 11:24 pm : Blog
Political correctness marches on as vast majority of people in this country tut, roll their eyes and get on with their everyday lives.
This week has been a good week for the PC brigade. Firstly, Christian hoteliers, Peter and Rosemary Bull lost a court case in Bristol, which was brought by two homosexual men who took exception because the couple refused to allow them to sleep in the same bed. What a complete joke. Aren’t people allowed to live by their religious beliefs in the country anymore? It seems not, especially if those beliefs clash with ‘modern’ views, which the PC ‘luvies’ constantly tell us, represents ‘progress.’ Progress in whose eyes I ask?
The second victory for the ‘right-on’ PC bunch came with the sacking on football pundit Andy Gray. Gray and his colleague Richard Keys were accused of ‘sexism’ after they cracked a few harmless jokes about a woman linesman – oops sorry, I mean referees assistant (more PC tosh). Gray was partaking in something we call ‘banter’ in football circles, and it is what gets said on the terraces and down the pub. It’s not as if he said it live on air, but then again, so what if he had, it’s no worse than the way the Loose Women show regularly mocks men. I think we all need to get a sense of humour, put what Gray said into perspective, and become a little bit more thick-skinned.
The world’s gone mad, and until we all stand up to these PC mind-benders, it will only get worse.
The far right pc nutters get me down too but trying to sheild homophobic business owners and mysoginist sports personalities as victims shows this member and ultimately his party to be totally unable to lead this country into the future. |

On the subject of the hoteliers, I agree with them, the hotel their business, they are the ones who committed their own money to it, and if their religious beliefs - and their interpetation of their faith - dictate to them that homosexuality is wrong then it should be up to them if they want homosexuals having sex in their establishment or not. There were plenty of hotels nearby who would have happily accepted them but they decided to make an issue of the one that wouldn't.
Compensation culture, nothing more. |

I disagree with you entirely Wishy. Not only do I disagree i'm taken aback at your seemingly backwards looking view.
If it was their home i'd agree with you to a point. Don't try the 'but it was their home' argument the guests would have been paying ones. It was business.
Similarly if someone was asking THEM ( the hoteliers ) to have same gender sex i'd understand their arguement.
Why on earth did they ASSUME that the gay couple would be having sex ?
Since when does being a Christian give them insights into everybodies sex lives and relationships ?
Do they question hetero couples ? Ask to see their marriage certs ?
They have NO rights to say 'no' on sexual grounds.
In taking their stance you would see homosexuals disallowed on buses, in restaurants , jobs , clubs .... all walks of life simply because a. n. others don't agree with their sexuality.
Should that extend to bi's ? No bi's or gays, no blacks or women signs hanging outside or in job ads ?
Following your reason forced marriages should be allowed in this country because someone's religion dictates it. All women should cover up and be subservient to males.
So much for tolerance and understanding or acceptance from those who use religion to 'whiten' their own prejudices and hatred. Cowards hiding behind scriptures.
I'd be more respecting of someone who admitted their hatred rather than saying .... it's God ...he' says noooooooo.

That's some list of assumptions you've made there. I was talking about one hotelier. The one you mentioned. Not blacks, or forced marriages, or buses, or bi's. Just one hotelier who found himself in court because he stood up for his beliefs against a gay couple with chip on their shoulder and a point to prove.
Pubs have a sign above the door that reads 'the management reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone on any grounds'. Private hotels should be afforded the same priviledge, and if someone doesn't like it, go somewhere else. |

I didn't see them as assumptions. More of what would 'logically' follow if people are allowed to discriminate willy nilly.
Good point about pubs.... but it is a bit of a straw man as no pub can say No Gays.
The hotelier said .....No Gays. |

Without knowing the facts of how his business has faired since the court case, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he has seen a marked increase in bookings from Christians who feel the same way. The publicity would have done him a lot of favours in acquiring the kind of clientele he wanted, and letting the gay community know they aren't welcome at the same time. |

"I hope they are all happy law breakers together
Religion is not and should not be above the law. "
I agree with you actually, but I am of the opinion that the gay couple in question were chasing compensation more than standing up for their rights. It's just that the two ideals happen to coincide.
Faced with such a situation myself, I'd rather have told the hotelier to fuck off and then I'd have gone and found accommodation where I was welcome. |

You ARE inaudible anyway Granny, you and the rest of us.
No matter of how we vote, we don't get a say.
The politicians will take orders from the higher echelons that call the shots.
As always the rich get richer by either moving abroad to dodge tax and the decent folks have to clean up after them.
There's no such thing as honesty where politics and money are concerned.

You can't KNOW that they were simply compensation hunting.
A hunch is just that.
Even if they were it doesn't negate or sanctify the hoteliers actions.
Harm occurs before compensation. |

Thinking back to the original OP I have to say I dont know who I will vote for next time. I only know I will vote for someone, then I will have the right to complain as much as I like when I see what a shambles we are still in. If you don't vote don't complain ! Or should we blame the no voters for the mess we are in now. They didn't vote and perhaps let the wrong people in by doing so. |
