Many of us probably last century imagined that by now we'd be hovering in space cars, wearing space suits and have cute cuddly alien friends.

What's the most futuristic thing you now have?

Southport / Ellesmere Port

A phone where you can video call people anywhere in the world. They used to have these sort of things on star trek etc and who'd have thought that could ever be a real thing

My HTC Vive VR headset is probably the most futuristic, VR has been around for decades but the graphics have never been good until now, some of the experiences on there are amazing.

In a previous job I wrote a tender for capsule endoscopy: a pill-sized wireless camera you swallow that will photograph your digestive system from the inside while you go about your day, transmitting to a receiver you wear round your waist. Gets right into the small intestine where it's traditionally difficult to reach, and you just let it pass naturally out when its job is done.

If that isn't some futuristic tech I don't know what is.

20 years ago my sister went travelling, we wrote letters to each other to keep in touch, along with a very rare scheduled phone call.

She now lives abroad and we can message, and video call, each other instantly.

That’s a pretty good progression of our time

Christ I'd rather have that than the endoscopy I had a couple of years ago, that was grim!
