Can’t remember exactly but I had a conversation awhile ago with my vet and it has something to do with a gene that white animals have....They are also prone to skin cancer something I didn’t know until my cat had it that’s why they advise you to use sun cream on white dogs/cats.... |

We used to have a Samoyed, pure white, as are the entire breed, never met a deaf one.
They are also one of the oldest and purest breeds - originally used to herd reindeer, which wouldnt have been much use if they were deaf |

A great breed and not deaf at all we also had a white German shepherd who wasn’t deaf either |

I have a white cat but she isn't deaf, she has very good hearing. |
