I no when threads are put on here that every one is entitled to post on them but why would users whoom have taken some offence to other users in the past on forums and blocked them feel the need to post on threads by them and not stay within the thread context but then go onto have there own conversations in a king of hyjack way?
Not meant in a personal way at all is this. Just a thought thats all. Please dont jump to conclusions as this is just a thought |

It's not up to the OP to dictate the way that a thread evolves. When it is let us know and we'll delete our account
The OP can be a springboard into absolutely anything else totally unrelated. |

Maybe some folk should understand that as the originating poster they do not 'own' the thread. And maybe that's why some other folk hijack them, to prove exactly that point. |

yeah granted and i understand that point, but if you as a poster dont want to participate to a thread with a specific theme... why post in it at all..
surely its just a very mild form of trolling,, its only purpose is to bee disruptive |

I was going to answer the question but since the thread has been hijacked.. Oh well!
There have been times when I have thought I wish it had not been hijacked so soon as it may of been interesting
There have been times when I probably have been guilty of it myself... Slowed down and much calmer in my old age...
I can see how it would look to a newbie... Not the most friendly in the world
Yes threads do take weird and wonderful turns.. But sometimes I wish they has started new threads as opposed to taking over others |

OP, Timbers have you not jumped to several erroneous conclusions yourself and posted a one sided comment.
Firstly, how do you know whether poster M has taken offence at poster B? For example, you may perceive that poster M has taken offence at poster B but how do you know that Poster M is not simply highly amused by the matter?
How do you know who poster M, or indeed anyone, has blocked?
Secondly, have you considered the situation where it is in fact poster B that has made an offensive post against someone that poster B has in fact blocked. A quite common situation i would imagine.
In such a situation, surely it is only poster B who could lift such a block, even temporarily and offer and apology, if they were at all concerned at offensive posts? How difficult would that be?

I think the OP is trying to say that if someone has blocked someone then that someone shouldn't post on the other someone's threads, not realising of course that someone doesn't own a thread once someone has posted it and someone else if entitled to post on someone else's thread if that's what they want to do. See. |

Do not use the forum to try and contact people who have BLOCKED you.
Should that not then work both ways if a user does not want to here from another user or users. Bit of a one sided thing aint it if users perhaps per say start posting on others threads as a way of maybe mocking them perhaps

A post on a forum is public to everyone and registered members are allowed to post on it regardless of who the OP is, and whether they have the OP blocked or not.
A private message is direct personal contact, however, and that can be blocked, if such contact is unwanted. |

I like this forum for that very reason, things do naturaly go off on tangents just like in 'real' conversations. I hate sites where thread starters are so bleedin' precious about stuff and are constantly 'warning' people to stick rigidly on topic.
I guess it depends on the topic sometimes, but generally it's nice to just 'chat' |

Just to clarify. The rules of no contacting anyone on the forums who has you blocked is simple really....if they ask you to unblock them or start a thread specifically to contact you personally then this is against rules.
Answering a post on a thread is fine to do. This is not breaking any rules.
Disclaimer....my post is just to clarify a rule. |
