On my own, or I go and see the folks. I see my daughter at some point. I prefer to go away. In the last few years I've gone to thailand for christmas. 5 hours in the gym training thai boxing every day.
Bliss. |

The morning the turkey goes in.
Presents get opened with a glass of bucks fizz.
Off to care home to see nan and help her with her presents.
Meal time with whatever guests we have, there is usually at least 5 of us plus pets.
Long lazy meal time with breaks in between courses and crazy games.
We choose crackers with tasks that we can do or we will play who am I between courses. There are always favours for my guests to take away as memento too.
Then the traditional queen's speech before desert. Followed by a liquor coffee. We then play silly games we have Santa v Jesus game this year that looks funny.
Then the Christmas TV starts around 7pm. We put a buffet out that people can graze at If they are hungry.
I like it to be a full day of family fun.
Belle. Beasts could well be very different to mine as he is with his family. |

Up early with kids. Eat chocolate for breakfast. Walk dogs whilst food cooks. Eat all the food, if we're lucky with no external family. Possibly visit a relative in the evening, I do try not to though, we never get to use the 'sorry snowed in' excuse do we! Then Slob out on the sofa for the evening, eating more of the food in peace |

Up late, collect my mum and head out for dinner. Drop her at home and have a coffee with her, then home to relax, maybe watch TV if there's anything I want to see, otherwise a glass of something nice and a good book. |

Mental but wouldn't have it any other way. I usually start off with just me and my youngest for breakfast then go and get my eldest and his girlfriend spend a few hours with them before the carnage arrives, my 2 sisters an their families, my dad and my grandson. Usually 14 round the table. Half of them stay half go home early hours of the morning. Cannot remember ever having a quiet one xx |

Shangri-la |
Present opening frenzy first thing with a glass of Bucks fizz to help me wake up. Stockings first, then Santa presents then family presents.
Kids play. I cook. We eat around 3. Then it's usually board games and a film. Turkey sandwiches for supper.
Oh & alcohol throughout it all. |

Always out of the UK, so with other influences and dependent on who I'm with. Had a lot of big extended family ones but this year I'm staying quiet. Managed to get mum out of hospital last night, after emergency admission kept her in for a couple of days.
I like to relax as I'm usually too busy. |

I dread it all year as my family are very difficult. I don’t get back to visit too often nowadays but feel obliged to for Christmas. I have a day or two either side busy catching up with friends and then usually spend the day with my Mum and brother.
I’ve found myself fantasising about spending it alone recently so this might happen next year! |

It will be nothing like usual this year. Apart from get up drink coffee and watch the birds feeding walk the dog, cook, eat, cook, eat, sleep in front of the TV, feed the dog, cook, eat,....
What am I talking about, it's just like every other year, just with far fewer people...

Breakfast in bed, put turkey in. Shower and get dressed up and head to the pub. Share a glass with friends and locals then home. Enormous dinner, feast for a king. Games, booze, glutteny, music and chill. |

"Last year I went abroad. Sat on a sun lounger, 22°C, no turkey or tinsel in sight. Bliss. Working this year all if it. Celebrate New Year with a curry instead.
The best Christmas "
I would have gone abroad this year, but the friend I usually go with is with a family member who is at the last few weeks of life. Maybe next year |

On my own but actually enjoy it
Will do something different tomorrow however, as local cafe opening for a couple of hours for those alone for the day. Going along for a bit of banter and hopefully lift the spirits of those who aren't so happy spending the day alone |

Verbally exhausting. Lots off plus conversation. Hyper relatives. With a sadness for those who are nt with us. Ups and downs. Mentally exhausting day and a mix of happy and sad. Prosecco helps |
