Who enjoy Christmas?

"I don't mean all out loving it, just mildly and fairly quietly enjoying the atmosphere, the telly, the sweets etc.
"
I have neither a TV licence, nor a sweet tooth.
For me, Xmas begins with the movie Labyrinth, continues with spooning and ends with new year fireworks.
But who am I to argue with you? |

I don't know, who are you?
I don't mind an argument or rather a discussion |

I do. It is the only break when everyone I work with is away as well, so no going back to loads of work and playing catch up. I can relax and just forget about it all. |

I don't enjoy Christmas, I would say indifferent. Never had a stable childhood with Christmas memories, never had children either. I work usually so at least one family gets a Christmas with their family. I celebrate New Year if there is anything tempting on offer that does not involve being surrounded by d*unks |

I do,but I recognise how difficult it is, so pick and choose how I let it all sink in, and slowly get infused with the atmosphere.
A choir, a brass band, some mulled wine, a winter's walk and I'm in. |

We were just saying the same thing. |

Yes, a nice walk in the dark to see all the houses lit up is nice too. |

"I’m feeling very festive today. I’ve had a lovely day with the kids watching films and just relaxing in between cleaning their bedrooms
"
Ooo the big Christmas tidy up? I've been doing that today. I've wrapped a couple of last minute things, finished some Christmas sewing and plan to watch something festive this evening. |

I do feel it is a time for families, and I do wish the shops could close for at least 2 days, so it gives families the opportunity to enjoy it properly. I am talking primarily about people who are pressurised into working in non essential retail jobs |

I think if we all stayed away from the shops on boxing day it would help |

I do. I'm very much you make of it what you do. I've had so much loss in my life and it is highlighted at Christmas. Plus I don't get to see beast at Christmas. But I love the smells, the lights, the festive spirit, showing people you care.

I'm definitely getting in the Christmas spirit now.
I enjoy Christmas. It's time with family, catching up, playing silly games and just relaxing.
I should also point out that there are no young children...it's adults and older teenagers playing silly games |

I'm not a huge fan of Christmas, I do it now as I have a young kid and there are bits I enjoy like the Nativity I went to yesterday.
The thing is, it's not compulsory.
If you don't like it you don't have to celebrate it, you can opt out or go low key.
No one is forced to observe Christmas, you can choose to go about your usual day to day routine, or just pick out the bits you like.
Yes it is in your face everywhere you go but you CAN choose to opt out of the Christmas hype if you want to.
More and more people do, I think. |

Yes I like it. Have many happy memories and a few sad ones when Grandparents passed away during the festive season. But we have great family get togethers and the nephews and nieces still bring that child like innocence to it that warms my heart. We tend to choose the films we’ll watch rather than watch what is served up and on Boxing Day we always watch the footy together. I know there won’t be many more with my parents so we make the most of the ones we have while they are still alive. |

Silly games and relaxing are things we do rarely get to do. |

Woo hoo! I've booked myself in for scrubbing the kitchen floor tomorrow but I'll wear a Christmas hat while I'm doing it |
