My friend is pregnant so I made a hamper for her full of pampery stuff, chocolate and her favourite glitterberry J20.
I also bought her a little plaster cast kit to make imprints of the babies feet/hands
And a 2020 diary to keep track of appointments |

Homemade cinnamon sugar scrub in a cute jar with a wooden spoon, cute Christmassy socks with lambs and a funky plate with black sheep. Lamb has a personal significance. |

She's absolutely pants to buy for, and in later years she's been happy for me to concentrate on her almost five year old's presents.
So my bestie has a giant fresh cotton scented candle and two fresh cotton Yankee Candle car air fresheners and some sweets. Little miss has got a Snow White doll with clip-on clothes, a little beanie baby, a huge Frozen 2 colouring and activity set and some coloured pencils, and they each have an original piece of art made by yours truly. |

"I don’t have a friend I buy presents for."
I don't have family, other than a couple of cousins and an uncle in Hull that I even send Xmas and birthday cards to, but being as it's quite nice to unwrap something on the day, we just get each other quirky silly little things |

"Have you bought for your best mate?
I've bought a T-shirt for ma best mate, he's called Brother Dave. It says Every One Knows A Dave "
A solargraph. It's a pinhole camera that you put up somewhere and it captures a picture showing the sun's arc through the sky during the year. Geeky, I know, but she likes a quirky project. |

Cheers. I signed up with a very dull name then spent a while looking at names on here for inspiration. People often think I look like Bowie and I love jumping around! |

"I don't buy adults Christmas presents "
I think Xmas is for kids, but being as I have no discernable family, it's nice to be able to buy a present for someone that you know and however small, at least put a smile on their faces x |

I've bought a bottle of decent Bourbon (Jim Beam), a bottle of Brecon Five vodka and a selection of dog treats for the parents and dogs* of a friend who isn't doing that well financially at the moment.
I've also paid for her rail fare to get from where she is living to her parents for Christmas.
She can gift them as her own.
No obligation expected Christmas giving.
Please see my thread on Foodbanks and the homeless.
*The dogs get the treats, not the alcohol.

Friends and I no longer gift we just do a small secret Santa and donate to a food bank instead. I've also done a donation to a shelter.
I did send one friend some Christmas flowers and chocolates but that's to thank her for all her help - she took my son to work when I was in Manchester last week and always offers help. |
