Well I've finally taken the plunge and booked a holiday, and going on my own - and mainly thanks to one person who has supported me in this from Fab.......
so my question is (cos I'm still feeling really nervous about this) is what are the GOOD things about going on holiday on your own........ I reckon I've thought of every thing not so good about going solo, so you could say I'm looking for some positive reinforcement of my decision........... lol!!
The obvious one I guess is being able to please yourself what you do.... |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
I'll let you know in a couple of weeks - have just taken the same step. Not sure how I'm going to get on as I'm quite shy, but I need a break, nobody's going to come with me, so I'm going to talk to random people, agree to everything and see where I end up!
Good on you for taking the plunge - where are you going? |

I have been on holiday lots of times on my own.
Actually prefer it now.
As for advantages,
Dont have to put up with arguements,
Can eat where you like when you like,
Can visit where you like,
Can hang out with who you like,
Can get up when ya like
Can go to bed when ya like, - with who ya like
Loads of other people who are holidaying are always in a good mood, so you get talking to LOTS of different people as they seem to want to take us "poor singles" under their wing - so i find you get to meet more people - as when going with someone else to tend to stay in that unit.
Go for it - you wont look back |

Went on my own to Florida last year. They love the English accent over there, especially if its one that doesn't fit into either of the Hugh Grant or Dick Van Dyke cockney stereotypes |

That's interesting. I'd only expect that to apply away from the tourist-y areas (although not in the deeper "hick" areas). Although I'm sure it applies REALLY well once it does!
Will definitely speak to more women then! |

I've been travelling on my own for many years and have to say 'ditto' to all of the above, look on it as an adventure. I'm sure when you get back you'll be off to the Travel Agents booking your next one. Looking forward to seeing you there!! Look out Rhodes is all I can say!! The coundown is on (I actually have a countdown timer on my laptop, how sad is that, lo.) |
