For me at least it sums up this time of the year.

Not quite sure Whams song could become a Carol lol, Carol's are quite religious hence they are all about the meaning of Christmas, and what it's meant to symbolise.

Love a carol service. Going to carols by candlelight on Saturday. Away in a manger and once in royal David’s city for me but I do like them all

Something magical about people singing Christmas Carol's. Love to hear it.

Little donkey will always be my fabourite. Although it does get a bit high pitched and tricky

Also, Away in a Manger.

Both remind me of my Primary School years.

Silent night seems to be popular judging how many times they’ve used it for my bambino’s concerts.

Silent night is beautiful, when it's quiet and snowing outside, and a choir singing it.

Little Donkey and Away In A Manger remind me of primary school. I actually surprised myself the other day by remembering a lot of the lyrics to Away In A Manger!

Hark how the bells,

Sweet silver bells,

All seem to say,

Throw cares away

Christmas is here,

Bringing good cheer,

To young and old,

Meek and the bold.

Ding dong ding dong

That is their song

With joyful ring

All caroling.

One seems to hear

Words of good cheer

From everywhere

Filling the air.

Oh how they pound,

Raising the sound,

O'er hill and dale,

Telling their tale.

Gaily they ring

While people sing

Songs of good cheer,

Christmas is here.

Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,

Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas.

On on they send,

On without end,

Their joyful tone

To every home.

Ding dong ding dong

Ding dong ding dong

Hark how the bells,

Sweet silver bells,

All seem to say,

Throw cares away

(We will throw cares away)

Christmas is here,

Bringing good cheer,

To young and old,

Meek…

I love this version of Silent Night. The album it is off is my current in-car entertainment.

When I was a Boy Chorister and became Head Choir Boy, I would sing the first verse of Once In Royal David's City as I led all the choir through the church up to the Choir Stalls.

Thus, one of my favourites.

So too, are the ones, described by a choir's director as "being able to play it with gusto!", namely, "Hark the Herald Ages Sing" and O Come all ye Faithful.
