All I'll be getting extra is a tub of celebrations and a pork pie

Because at one point, the shops didn't open at all, so it was either buy it all in, or get a hamper delivered.

Old habits.

I buy an extra few bits which I wouldn’t normally buy, I also will buy some nice picky bits and chocolate and fizzy drinks which is never ever bought on a normal shop.

I won’t be going over board though as only mainly myself who eats it all.

Feeding 12 people for 4 days in a row, I ain't stepping in to no supermarket on boxing Day.

I'm a double trolley-er

Well actually I'm not as I get it delivered.

I do buy a fair bit more for the Christmas period.

The only reason normally I only shop for one or Ash if he's at mine but I have my sister, her husband and kids plus friends over Christmas eve.

I have everything in the fridge and freezer. I brought a few what you call Christmas snacks mince pies and Christmas cake and pudding.A couple of bottles of different things.

Lidls 3 bird roast.A Tesco ham.And some different options of cream. Most in date till 27/28 and some up to the 4 so. Apart from a normal small shop next weekend I don't even need nothing

not rude at all. He is judging size or people shopping. That’s also rude! I have 4 kids 13 16 17 18 years old. A trolley don’t cut it. And that’s a normal week. Let alone Christmas

If you read properly she wasn’t saying why do you have so much food she was just implying most people over shop, which regardless of family size most people do. Your comment was nasty and personal. How do you know her personal situation? If she was lonely comments like yours could be deeply offensive

First line! Why do people over buy. “ that’s not judging “ !!! That person could be buying for a home! Food bank big family. Or a wasteful over shopper

I just found your attitude rude and hurtful. Some people aren’t fortunate to be surrounded by family and friends.

I always buy way too much food but Christmas is the time for indulgence and overeating

I buy enough to last around 10 days as going to the supermarket or getting an online slot over those few Christmas days is a nightmare.

Possibly because they don't spend time planning menus?

Thinking about what you already have in the kitchen and freezer can avoid duplication of items.

Aside from cheese from Paxton & Whitfield, a turkey, fresh sprouts, carrots, parsnips, cranberries and a packet of cornflour (for the rum infused white sauce for the Christmas pudding) we're good to go.

I made a list and put it on the fridge door. And next thing I had two packs of sausage meat 4 packs bacon wrapped sausages. All because Tesco had a sale on them and two people had seen my list and brought them lol. But I had room in freezer for the sausages and the rest keeps for a few days after Christmas.

Some people are catering for a lot of guests or have big families. Christmas is a traditional time for feasting and indulgence.

I do a bit extra but I'm careful not waste anything. The freezer is my friend.
