Oldies will remember these from the 70's. Kids getting killed/ maimed doing dumb things. Falling into silos, drinking bleach, kites touching pilons.

What new adverts would you like them to make, to 'educate the masses'?

What about Tufty squirrel, and Bobby weasel binge drinking, and nicking that icecream van that they always got knocked over whilst trying to reach?

Could end with them going through the windscreen as they didnt have seatbelts on?

I remember one which showed some kid getting killed in a variety of gory and grim ways while playing on a building site, it was terrifying!

Then there's the one were the kid throws his frisbee into a substation and gets fried retrieving it

Our kids watch it in school still.

They even have road safety lessons. Literally an afternoon at a tesco car park learning how to cross.

The frisbee one absolutely horrified me as a kid. I was terrified of small substations that are around. I guess it worked.

Also said gran doesn't want you to take drugs and drive.

I remember one up in the library as a kid warning about falling through glass. It was massively graphic, I couldnt stop looking at the picture but was horrified. Bit much for a kids library.

Peter Purvis also knows a lot about dogs and was a regular commentator for Crufts when it was televised.

Charles Darwins "natural selection" has a place to play in society

I go to Scandinavia quite a lot and a few years ago a busy rural train yard had no security fencing etc

Someone asked the manager "what about accidents to trespassers" and the guy just smiled and said the Swedish equivalent of "shouldn't be here so they get what they deserve"

How to critically assess claims/adverts online. Can't imagine the Tories doing this though, for some reason.

Not from here but the Americans used to broadcast these public information infomercial on the radio and one I remember was if you were busy and couldn't watch your favourite tv programme then they recommended "time shifting" it took me a while to realise they meant video it and watch it later.
