Every time I see footage of a fallen soldier returning from Afghanistan....
When I see the wives and children of these brave guys on my TV or in newspapers it brings back painful memories of my own childhood. |

"Sorry makes my post seem really shallow "
not at all!
I cry at stupid stuff... I once cried because the take-away had run out of my favourite meal (while I was on the phone to them!). Not my proudest moment haha.... and my ever loving family has never stopped laughing about it lol x |

Apart from my Dad's anniversary when I just let go all the love I have for him even though he died 40 odd years ago 1 piece of music just makes me weep.
First is Elgar's 'Nimrod'. I used to sing the choral version (Lux Eterna) with no probs but since my best mucka bought his at Tumbledown I just can't hold it together when it is played. For those that don't know the name it is played by the Massed Bands at the Cenotaph right after the Silence.
Get a lump in the throat at the National Anthem as well.... |

The latest Peter Pan film, when Tink dies and all the children are chanting 'I do believe in fairies, I do! I do!' ...and even some of the pirates join in
It just reminds of being little and crying cos the nasty boy next door kept saying he didn't believe in fairies over and over again... I was inconsolable |

"The songs i played for my mum n dads funeral always get me started if in a shop i walk out. "
Music will always take us to places we have forgotten and is a beautiful way to remember people, places and events. |
