Christmas is our worst time of year, we’re just so busy at work that all we do when it arrived is sleep!
Hubby is a postie, I work for Parcelforce and it’s hell! We’re both working overtime to try and get everything delivered, hubby is regularly working 13 hour days. I’m part time but currently working 15 hours a week overtime. My depot is delivering on average 25000 parcels a day, every day from Black Friday onwards.
I used to love Christmas before I worked for Royal Mail group. Now I just can’t wait for it to be over so I can have a well earned rest. |

I ordered two gaming chairs, one has been delivered but they apparently sent the two together. So frantically trying to find the other one, I’m just scared I’ve got to pay for another one if we can’t sort it x |

I do get stressed but that's not because of my own festivities, but other peoples.
I'm a waitress and this time of year is brutal.
Can go from being so busy I don't have time to even have a piss or frustration from there being loads of bookings so you get called in on your day off, spend money getting to work only to have the large table you've been called in to deal with not bother turning up, therefore you get sent home without even starting work.
Nice one arseholes, you've just cost me money.
And then you have the "you've ruined my Christmas" brigade. Those who book for 8 but then bring extra people, we don't have space for the extras they've not bothered checking we can cater for so now I personally have ruined their Christmas coz I can't fit them in or rearrange the heavy furniture to cater for them.
You have those who complain because they have to wait more than 5 mins for their mains because we're busy. Erm hello.... your food is cooked to order, not bulk cooked and you aren't the only people in here.
You also have the groups that don't fucking leave. Erm yeah, we kinda closed half hour ago and I'm back in work in 8 hours time so I'd appreciate it if you fucked off ta very much coz I'm about to miss my last bus. 15 mins later they're still using the toilet, don't bother leaving a tip just a load of mess and I'm hanging about just for them. Cheers guys, you've just cost me sleep coz now I've gotta walk 3 miles home in the freezing cold and I can't afford a fukcing taxi coz tipping seems beyond you even though I've gone out of my way and put myself out for you all twatting night.

I'm not stressed at all - Only have to get a few presents & always go on holiday to the sunshine for a couple of months after Christmas so looking forward to that !!
I can see how it's a difficult time of year for people working in certain industries. |
