no, not people.
Just a quiet nod in the direction of George Laurer, who invented the barcode reader that is now so ubiquitous in sales and manufacturing industries, who has died aged 94.
From a tin of beans to speeding up the parcel delivery process- while the actual barcode was someone elses idea- he came up with the goods to be able to scan and read them.
I do hope they give him a suitably stripey coffin- Cheers George  |
