Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
Italian or Japanese.
I am rubbish at languages so I might have to accept that picking up words from Shogun on the telly decades ago and from Giri/Haji recently is probably all I'm going to manage. |

"Russian. You aren't allowed on the ISS unless you can speak English and Russian."
I had to learn the Russian alphabet as one of my challenges. You can find a Sesame Street alphabet song on YouTube. |

"If you could speak another language which would you like to speak?
(This isn’t a bragging thread for how many you already speak, however brilliant that is!!) "
I'd go for Italian. I've learned a bit but still plenty more to do. It's a beautiful language, not too difficult (like German - grrr!) and it's and important language used for lots of operas. Italy is a wonderful place to visit with all that art, history and beautiful scenery. Luke |

"For those looking to learn, the Duolingo and Memrise apps are really good. "
A family member is using Duolingo for Italian and keeps dropping phrases into dinner conversation. The last one was about the penguins at the zoo eating fish. I'm not sure where he'll use that one but I like that penguins made it onto a language course.

"Mandarin/Chinese. I would then know the two most spoken languages in the world
Fuzz
After that I'd like to learn Elfish....or maybe Klingon
Fuzz"
I'm pretty sure you can find easy Elvish and Klingon courses that won't require you to learn new characters.

"I’d quite like to learn French and Italian fluently. Both are countries I intend to spend time in during 2020"
Ash is fluent in Spanish and pretty good at French and Italian so I'm just let him be my personal interpreter. |

I'd like my Italian to be considerably better than it is. And I would love to learn German. To be honest there aren't any I wouldn't learn if I had the chance. I love learning languages like Cartman loves eating KFC. |

You and I could have the most boring, nerdy conversation that's ever happened on the site |

It can be done. I became fluent in a second language with two lessons a week (2 hours each) over three years.
The problem is immersion - unless the language is being used with native speakers, fluency is difficult to achieve.
To answer the question: Arabic. |

"german ,Spanish, swedish ,and Russian "
I lived in Sweden from mid 2018 to just a couple months ago. Swedish was pretty easy to pick up. It’s similar to Scottish slang in certain ways.
Ahh I miss that place! |

Beautiful country with beautiful women. Not a lot to do once you’ve taken in it’s beauty though.
If you get the chance I would recommend Gotëborg for a weekend. Anymore and you’d be like “why the fuck did that lad tell me to come here?” Haha
Jag skulle rekommendera Sverige. |

Spanish and French are on the list- Punjabi would be interesting, mainly to freak out a couple of mates by knowing what they're whittering on about sometimes but also as the Midlands has a lot of hot Indian ladies....may make for some interesting random chats |
