Not a new scam but something to be wary of around the midlands although I dare say it's happening everywhere.
A middle age guy with a map is flagging drivers down either asking for money for fuel in exchange for his ring as security(obviously worthless)
But the more worrying one is flagging a car down saying he has a baby in a car that's broken down(parked up within view) and they need a car to get to hospital quickly.
Police have said they'll use a dummy baby wrapped in a blanket or in a car seat to make it more realistic and then steal your car when you open it and get out to see what's happening.
Such a tricky one as you'd hate to be the person to ignore a genuine request for help but I'd maybe call the police rather than get involved.
Be careful fabsters (especially the ladies of fab) and keep your car doors locked |
