There and to the left a bit

What a tough call and I personally would have had Alex just shading it but no complaints that it went the other way.

Although it does throw up a thought about situations where the head judge has the casting vote, especially given Shirley went with personal preference of the dance she liked most personally - is that fair? Or when the judges are tied should they then look at the public vote and the one that had the most votes goes through? Just a thought.

I also find it a little unfair when the celebrity is penalised because a dance is not strictly what it is supposed to be - they in most cases won't know how "true" a Samba, Waltz, Salsa etc it is and will just do the dance that is put before them, understand there have to be elements in there and the professional they are paired with should ensure they appear but even so still seems harsh

I think we have to trust the judges. It is down to the professional to make sure their partner is complying with the rules. Chris had only a few bars of Foxtrot in and Alex had even less bars of Samba in.

Oh I agree on both counts but when the judges are split as they were tonight is it really right it comes down to one of them to use "personal preference" rather than technical ability as such (as Shirley said she did tonight) to decide was kind of my point.

And yeah I know on the second point but that in itself then makes it as much about the professional as it does the celebrity and I'm not sure that is the intent or ethos of the programme

Think (opinion) that Chris will go, he is not as strong as the rest and with two dances. But having said that ultimately it will be based on a public popularity vote which may offset any points he loses in the two dances.

I like all of them but it ultimately is a dance competition and would like to see that reflected in the final vote and not based in popularity rather than skill, I have my favourite as do we all

Much as I like Chris and how genuinely surprised he seems to have got so far and probably *is* by far and away the one who has come the furthest since week one, technically he's miles behind Kelvin and Karim, and probably not quite up there with Emma either - so barring any disasters and without a single step having been danced, he should be next to go - but you never know with Strictly and it comes down to who dances best on the night and then the public vote after that.

I don't watch it, but Chris to win regardless of how good or bad he really is. It's far too much fun listening to his podcast with the shock and annoyance from his wife Rosie that he is still in the competition.

To be honest both Chris's dances tonight were more about Karen dancing round him than anything he did, so he should be in the dance off - really would be hard to have Karim or Kelvin in it, so has to be Emma and Chris will be out unless she has a complete disaster.

Much as I like seeing celebrities progress I also love to see the professionals and how they interpret music, interpret the mood, the nuances and deliver choreography. With Karim amy has finally shined cos like Anton usually ends up with the entertainment factor rather than show their own abilities. There is a lesson here for the Guys I think lol. Rather than a myriad of posts oh "woe is me", "does my profile/pictures look good on me". Take time out to watch Kelvin in strictly, may be more informative than posting in the forums.

Bit of a petrol head and he is a racing driver also

I concur....he always seems really surprised when he gets good comments too.

Karim is good but is a little look at me and a bit in your face, great performer. As judges said he can over cook it sometimes, Kelvin is a lot more humble and modest. "

My thoughts too!

Got a feeling that the final is going to be Emma, Karim, and Kelvin. Which kills me, because Chris has been my favourite since week one.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Motsi's outfit: In a good way. Wow.

Craig's marking seemed erratic this week.

Everyone's second dance was a little off.

Chris looked like his had been simplified at the last minute. His smile, spirit and fan base could see him through.

Emma's hips looked like she might have some pain, or something, going on. It may be Anton's fans that put them in the final, rather than hers.

Karim's Argentine Tango was gorgeous. I think his problem is that he's young, looks it and driven to be technically perfect. I don't think he'd be getting all the comments about being cocky if he'd lived a little longer and had more life experience to bring nuance to his dance.

Kelvin is the winner. Even when he gets it wrong we'll forgive it as he is able to bring other facets to make the dance a performance.

I liked Emma's dancing intially, but think she is overrated now. Kelvin has been my number one from the start, always pretty consistent. Karim also a good dancer, I could see him in the West End.

That was the result I expected. I think it also tells us who the winner is next week. The public vote really could mean that a great dancer is knocked out and not make the final two.

It's tricky, isn't it? Know that I know what the result will be (the only jeopardy is for 2nd and third place) I am feeling more comfortable about watching it later.

Or, I sneak off and get back to my hotel room.

Think the consensus is that Kelvin should win. Karim is good dancer and performer, think Amy has had chance to shine with him as a choreographer and professional.

In a straight popularity contest and judging by the recent voting trends he is likely to loose out, be the first to go. So is likely to be Emma vs Kelvin.

It's a shame that he may be the first to go as he is definitely a stronger/better dancer than Emma overall, but is he stronger/better than Kelvin overall? To go out 1st or 2nd does it really matter? There can be only one winner.

Also have to consider in popularity there is the Anton factor, he is much loved and has been in it from the beginning and in 17 years think he has got to Blackpool once but barely makes it past first few weeks with his parings let alone a final, so in a public vote he may the one who clinches it for Emma, which case both better/stronger dancers go out.

I think he could be in the final two for that reason, knocking Karim out. Kelvin's fans will see him crowned.

My dilemma is whether to leave the MLS early to watch it, or just catch up tomorrow. I've never missed a Strictly final before.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I'm all caught up and the result is as expected.

Karim was perfect, but I suspect doing a contemporary dance for the showstopper will have cost him.

Emma enjoyed herself but I thought their showstopper was all set and little content. It was very safe but will have played well with voters.

Kelvin and Oti were magical. The almost wardrobe malfunction may have boosted some of the vote too.

Motsi has been a great addition to the judging panel and I'm looking forward to seeing Johannes again.

I enjoyed this series. Thanks for watching 'with' me.

Hi Lickety! Did you have a good weekend? Yes I wasn't keen on Karims contemporary dance, it wasn't for me at all. I thought Emma's dance was a little bland.
