It will be a bare tree.
In the hall.
Next to the door.

In the Philippines where my wife was born, you start to hear Christmas carols in September and the trees go up in October. Big thing there.
We compromise and put our tree up in November as a result.
I don't mind. Its nice to see it there for longer. |

Well the Philippines is almost 100‰ devout Catholic. You've never seen churches so jammed.
When your kids are hungry, you're doing a 5 hour commute each way to work, and you run the real risk of getting sechwlly assaulted on the way home every day when people grab you, and you have to hand wash your clothes in the stream (all true examples) then you take any opportunity you can for a celebration and make it last a long time. |

That sounds good to me,apart from the moving which can be bloody hard work especially if you're doing it by yourself with two kid's in tow...won't be doing that again |

I (her) put our tree up yesterday. At first it felt too early but once we started it turned out to be a fun afternoon.
I (her) made cakes with 2 teenagers... who did a time lapsed video of the event, which was hysterical to look back at. Then built and decorated a gingerbread house which had subsidence and a cock iced on the roof.
Then we put the tree up and in the evening watched a film whilst tucking into some of the festive treats.
Now it does feel a little christmassy in our house. |

I'm hearing you,I think sometimes though it's easier if we try and embrace it. I went into town last weekend and our church had xmas tree displays from all the different local organisations and schools, with a pianist playing it was absolutely beautiful. Small pleasures... |

I'll be putting mine up today, mainly because my kids have a habit of turning up at short notice and call me a grumpy old bugger if the place doesn't look festive in December.

So far so good. As long as holes are made in the base and it's kept well watered all is good. Plus I turn the heating down in the dining room where the tree is |

Not putting a tree up this year as I’m looking after some stuff for my sis, while she’s in temporary rental accom, and it’s in the corner where the tree normally goes! However, I will still be decorating around the mantle and fireplace, the window sills, and the stairs/balustrade...but not until next weekend |

Ok there's two thing's wrong there, one you've put it up and two you've got the children to help that spells chaos. When mine were little I stuck it up when they weren't there, but left all the soft or wooden ornaments for them to put on near the bottom of the tree. |

I don't think I'm bothering with the big tree this year
As much as I love Christmas, it seems a bit like hard work!
I'd have to totally rearrange my furniture around
I'm away 13-17th Dec, then come the 20th my boys are away with their dad for a week.
I'm working upto Xmas eve, then I'll be off to spend a few days with my mum
Maybe a few twinkly lights round the windows & garlands on the chimney, but they'll be it |

It can be a pain putting a tree up,I have to block a door in my living room to accommodate it. On the plus side it saves me forever saying shut the door! Twinkly lights and garlands sound lovely. |

A roof over your head is the most important thing, everything else takes time and money. You can always go to the great outdoors and get some foliage and pretty the place up that way,I have a holly tree that I take cuttings from to bring indoor at Xmas. |

I’m not putting a tree up - I have an old fashioned clothes airer suspended from the ceiling in the kitchen. It’s usually adorned with artificial flowers, ribbon and greenery - quite a centre piece.
I will dismantle it in a couple of weeks and it will become a Christmas centre piece with baubles suspended on invisible thread and Christmas ribbon |
