To a person on here?
I have tried the be nice to everyone approach, but then you end up having them calling you a time Easter.. just because you're conversing with them..so I dont bother now..lol

I very rarely send a message, and if I do it's mostly to do with something that I have read, rather than a picture for instance.
Be that on profile or forum.
Rather have a conversation that is interesting (or just normal everyday life) but has to be some involvement to keep it going.

I don't think you necessarily choose who you message more you choose each other naturally.
By that I mean, yes there may be people you may send a message to because you like their profile, like something they said in the forums etc and they may reply - that bit of course you choose to do, but when it comes to moving beyond that and getting a flow of messages that go back and forth without effort,and build a connection then that is a natural and instinctive thing that we can't individually choose to happen, it just happens naturally.
The way I look at it is no different from any encounter in normal life, some people will come and go and be fleeting friendships, some may hang around for a while and then disappear, others will make a lasting impression and become firm friends.
