So on 24th March I had my eyes tested and ordered some new glasses.
As is the norm, it was payment upfront so £500 went on the plastic.
1 pair of ordinary ones & 1 pair of sunglasses.
I was told they would be ready to collect on the 3rd April.
On 2nd April I receive a call to say that at least 1 pair have been 'rejected' so not to collect until the 9th.
On the 9th, (having received no further phone calls), I battled thru Bank Holiday traffic and presented myself as suggested in the earlier phonecall.
1 pair of glasses there, sunglasses not !
Having taken 1h20mins to get there and get parked (usually 20/25 mins), I was not best pleased.
Looked on the system and advised me that the sunglasses aren't due in until the 13th !
So learning from my earlier mistake, today I rang before setting off.
Initially I was told they weren't there but they were expecting a delivery so ring after 2pm.
I rang after 2pm and was told that they, again, hadn't arrived.
On enquiring why ? and when would they be in ? I was told I'd get a call back.
15 minutes later I receive a call saying they are not now expected until the 21st 'at the earliest' as they have been 'rejected' (same excuse as last time).
So that will be 1 month from date of order, numerous phone calls and at least 1 unnecassary trip.
All time their bank account is £500 better off and I'm paying interest on it (or will be very shortly)
All in all, I am not a happy Bussy ! |

I ordered new specs after an eye test in October and still don't have a pair I can actually see through. I've had a 50% refund but will probably ask for the other 50% if they're not right the next time.

cancel it all and go somewhere else.
I used to spend a bloody fortune on my glasses, refused to go to specsavers then i gave in and went to them and ive never had such good service from an optition than them at 1/4 of the price |

Try asda. I've been wearing a high prescription since I was small and I've never had such cheap and good quality specs - I even used to buy them direct from a lens lab!
As the prescription goes up they automatically make the specs with thinner lenses, both pairs! Two pairs, thinner than specsavers do even if you pay extra.for under £100. |

Kick off calmly but firmly and every time.you get stonewalled ask for that persons manager. The higher you go the more they can authorize. Also they get fewer complaints to deal with and are less jaded and resistant and are more likely to see that you have a reasonable complaint.
Don't get angry,.keep smiling, keep your tone calm but don't budge till you get an offer you think is acceptable. |

i teach customer service techniques as part of my job. i am a nightmare customer if i ever have to complain, i don't know why cos i'm very pleasant and smiley and friendly the whole time... unless they've really pissed me off, then i get very cold and cross but they can't get rid of me cos i never cross the line... |

You can offer the lippy vouchers on your profile to anyone who meets you subject to T&Cs (namely, a BJ gets one voucher, a shag gets two) |

"Get your eye test done, get the prescription then order online, i use glasses direct.
The optician may be annoyed at giving you the prescription but they cannot refuse."
Asda are actually cheaper! |

Mr Ruggers always used a local optician and paid out a fortune, he went to Asda this time and got two pairs of glasses with different prescriptions within 10 days for a third of the price of one pair at his normal opticians.
As to the service they have not provided, I would complain and ask for a refund, as they havn't honoured the contract in time. |

Under the sales agreement act(cant rem year) you are entitled to a full refund as they have broken the contract. You have gave them numerous opertunities to put it right and they havn't. Any charges you have endured due to their neglegance should also be refunded. xx |

Choose a pair that's twice as much as the pair you had ordered and refuse point blank to pay the difference as it no mistake of yours. You'll get them. I would consider looking for a cheaper alternative to your optician. Lets face it £250 glasses bend just as easily as £150 when you fall too sleep with them on
