Some people look at getting older as a bad thing.
I've just looked at photos of myself taken 6 years ago and to be honest I don't recognise the person.
OK I've lost a lot of weight, but I don't think that is everything. My hair then was past my shoulders and natural grey with some white in it. But I look drawn and haunted.
I think I look younger now than I did then. I looked and dressed 20 years older. I look at things I wore then and think, crumbs you look like your mum.
I certainly act younger and feel younger.
I don't even know why I'm writing this down. Maybe it's cathartic.
Do you ever look back at the person you were and either don't like or see such a difference that you don't recognuse that person. |

Totally !
Whilst I do look older, when I look back at pics from 10 years ago, I think I look much better now.
More importantly, I feel much better about myself and have far more confidence than I did then.
I think that shines through more than perhaps anything else.
Mind you, I looked bloody good in my early 20's before the hair started dropping out, the eyesight failing and the belly growing !
As for you OP, I am going to resist my usual age related clothes based torments and say just one thing
I didn't know you 6 years ago, but I am sure glad I know you now |

agree with the op . I think i look better now than i did even 2 years ago or five years ago , ten years ago i dont recognise myself . You end up looking at at picture of yourself and think what happened to that person ? Sure i got some grey hair now , put on a few pounds not too much though thankfully , got a few more scars and my body creaks in places it never used to thanks to rugby , but overall much better . maybe its as you get older your tastes develop , example ... how many were drinking red wine at 16 ? i used to hate the stuff but now i like nothing better tha to chill out out the world to rights and have a galss of red lol |

Well apart form the hair migrating from my head to my eyebrows, my ears and my nose and my eyes not being able to focus at anything less than arms length, more parts aching than not and the fact it does actually feel like I have used as much energy having sex as playing a game of football then no I think I am exactly the same as I was 20 years ago!
Just the guy in the mirror keeps reminding me otherwise |

i was looking at some old photos the other day and saw one of when i was about 15. people used to tell me i was ugly then and i believed them and was depresed most of the time, am 50 now and actualy i wasnt ugly i was quite pretty, my skin looked realy nice then. before when i looked at the photo, i only looked at what was wrong with me, not what was right with me. |

The eyesight is so bad I put my makeup on using a form of braille ..... but not wearing my glasses means I can't focus on any wrinkles lumps bumps or scars ........ I also avoid mirrors once the hair and face are done and the specs back on.
If I'm a thirty-something in my head then I am! |
