In Trever McDonald's day they use to sit on the fence, but now they seem to be different.

"In Trever McDonald's day they use to sit on the fence, but now they seem to be different. "

News readers take their cue from those in charge of whatever TV channel they work for.

Do you think they're using a bias for themselves, or for their TV channel?

There's a definite swing towards so called news programmes 'having an opinion', as they believe it draws a bigger audience than objective reporting - and of course it's all about the audience size. The answer is not to rely on only one or two sources for news.

The channel. It seems they all support one party.

Sometimes when I watch the news I immediately think of that TV show 'Drop the dead donkey'. Sloppy journalism and blatant propaganda. Although the BBC seem to dominate that field. Have done for years. Here is a complaint against the BBC radio back in 1931.

Daily Herald Newspaper (March 1931)

'Charges that the BBC is biased and in favour of Socialism and Communism have been made in the House of Lords tonight, and have been refuted by Chairman of the BBC, Lord Gainford.'

That was 88 years ago. I guess things never change.

They’re also super anal about being neutral to a fault, The fact that they told Naga off for her comments about racism because a reporter is supposed to be unbiased, how the hell are you supposed to be unbiased on topics such as racism and bigotry?

You physically can’t, because then you become an accessory to that kind of behaviour!
