Do people check winks?

Absolutely, prefer them to inane messages as I check out their profile at my leisure and decide whether I want to chat! Feel sorry enough for guys on here with the demands of others so it's a simple way to not clog up mail boxes or have to hand out rejection mails! Says so on my profile too |

Seeing as I don't get many, it is easily noticed when I get one. So I genrrly check it.
The thing with winks is, people use them for different things.
Some hate them, some love them and make use of them. |

This is generally what I use them for now. A quick "I'm interested" because messages get overlooked, even with face pics attached and considerable effort and manners put I (no that's not a moan) so if the initial attraction is there between us with a return wink then I feel it is much more worth my time of putting effort in to a conversation. |

This is generally what I use them for now. A quick "I'm interested" because messages get overlooked, even with face pics attached and considerable effort and manners put I (no that's not a moan) so if the initial attraction is there between us with a return wink then I feel it is much more worth my time of putting effort in to a conversation. "
For me it definitely works that way ... and it'll be easier once I'm travelling about much more next year! Much easier to message someone naturally if you already know they're interested as well I find!  |

I can't wink in real life. I just look like I have some facial tic. If I want to get rid of someone quickly I'll just wink at them and watch them back away. |

I think the dilemma with winking is that there are a significant number of people who think winking is lazy and therefore write winkers off as wankers. I cam to the conclusion that showing interest via either winking or by sending messages is pretty futile so stopped being proactive. I feel far less frustrated now I make no effort at all. |

I think a wink says “I’m interested in you, but not enough to go to the bother of writing you a message”.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think they’re pretty pointless |

Bit of a negative way of looking at it. Maybe they were interested, tried to message you, found they couldn’t because of your message preferences, so decided to wink as it was they only way they could let you know they were interested, but n the hopes they would contact you.
This has never happened to me, as my message preferences are “must have a pulse” |

We look at winks from couples (and single women, in the rare event that we get them). Our profile says that we ignore winks from single men - so any that wink us clearly haven't read the profile and deserve to be ignored. |

I check my wink.
I find them good way to show I'm interested in someone. But may not match a 100% match what their looking for. That way I can leave it up to them to choose if they want to talk.  |

Usually we don't check them as a matter of course but occasionally we will open them up and see who has an eyelash in their eye.
We have winked back and waited for the response, and was so glad we did...
Enough said, and as a result do check them about once a fortnight now. |

Always check winks and frequently send them! How could anyone not realise/check them?! I just think it’s a good way of just expressing that you’re interested and therefor potential to strike an articulate interesting conversation no?? What’s everyone else’s views on that? |
