It isn't. Though it can be passed between partners. It's much more commonly developed on its own though.

It’s a yeast infection. It can be passed between partners so important to treat yourself and them, else will reinfect each other?

Is that right?

Under the Duvet

A British songbird that likes bashing the fcuk out of snails.

Also a yeast infection that can be passed between partners, but not necessarily an STI as old people and young kids can get it too

Usually easily treated with an over the counter tablet, cream or pessary.

If reoccurring go see your doc.

"It’s a yeast infection. It can be passed between partners so important to treat yourself and them, else will reinfect each other?

It is sexually transmittable but not an sti

Its an overgrowth of yeast usually because of an imbalance in the bacteria you have in your vagina , commonly caused by antibiotics , change in hormones, sanitary items, wearing tights or other tight clothing ... pretty much loads of things

Men cant develop it on their own, but can catch it from their partner and keep giving it back to them if both not treated

Depends really. If you both have one then yes. If only one does then you can just avoid sex until it's cleared up. You usually wouldn't want to with an active yeast infection anyway

Alot of men are symptom free so best advice would be to treat both

You can buy the fluconazole capsules from local pharmacies for about £5

Dont use boots or lloyds or they will sting you double that for their brand or canesten

Candida is part of the normal flora in both mouth and elsewhere such as genitals.

It only becomes an issue if something upsets the natural balance.

Very common under dentures in the mouth for instance.

And not uncommon in ladies down below after a course of antibiotics.

Antibiotics are used to kill off harmful bacteria in the body. But they can also destroy beneficial bacteria in the process, which may lead to a yeast infection.

Vaginal yeast infections are fungal infections of the vagina. They happen when a type of fungus called Candida, which occurs naturally in the vagina, begins to grow out of control. Yeast infections can cause intense itching and irritation of the vagina and vulva .

Its a common infection and as many have said yeast is the culprit Cranberry juice is good way of minimising the effect along with some creams caniston works well and eating mushrooms helps in dishes (nt the magic ones) easily transferred to partners so as said treat both parties its nothing to worry about as easily treated Just annoying if you get it

Not that i can think of, unless it was because i bought stronger capsules abroad

Used to buy a 6 pack every time i went abroad because you can only buy singly here and i knew i would need them after every period but noticed when i was going away last time i had some left and hadnt needed any for a while

Thrush is caused by a fungus and men and women can both get it. Bacterial vaginosis is a different condition, obviously only caught by women.

Live yoghurt, wrapped in clingfilm to make a tampon shape, put in the freezer until its firm enough to insert. Brought temporary relief but clearing it up once it ‘melted’ wasnt amusing.

"I'm really pleased nobody thought it was an STI.

I'm suffering at present cos of having had a severe and overly long infection - a month of antibiotics. I have it elsewhere. Somewhere I never knew you could get it: nipples. Damn they are so sore and sensitive. "

My daughter passed it on to me when i was breastfeeding her, i do remember it being unpleasant.

You don't want to read any thread about (the fish-smelling) bacterial vaginosis, a totally different kettle of errrrr fish .

A lot of people suffer from gut problems where antibiotics kill off other interflora but the candida albicans survive and take over preventing a return to normality. There is no medical cure for it and such the pharmaceutical industry and therefore the medical fraternity have largely laughed it off as s myth. They can however make holes in your colon causing leaky gut syndrome. Once the toxins from your colon go into your bloodstream a whole load of bad things can happen. You need to avoid sugars, alcohol, preservatives, coffee... basically anything that makes food worth eating.

I often wondered if it was sexually transmissable.

I kept getting it time & again. Had to get antibiotics several times it was that bad.

Turns out my husband was having an affair & lord knows what before her. I think this is why I kept getting it.

We are over a year & half broken up....havent got it once since.

That's what started it and then I found that it had a thrush bonus. I don't have a latex allergy anywhere else but I was always sore using latex condoms.

The bonus was that I DIDN'T develop thrush, as well as not developing BV.

Antibiotics cause thrush rather than take it away

"It's amazing how many different causes there are of thrush developing. I remember being told, eons ago, not to play with bananas because their sugar content is really high and can cause thrush.

Handy thing to know.

Cheers, vicar... "

"It’s a yeast infection. It can be passed between partners so important to treat yourself and them, else will reinfect each other?

Is that right?"

Yes, as far as I'm aware

Nope it’s a a yeast infection but it can be passed on. I’ve had an itchy knob from it when I was younger after having bareback sex with my OH, when she had it. But it is not considered an STI and easily cleared up with Canesten usually.

Someone said about diabetic people having suger in their urine can be a cause of it, but that's not the case. It's the persistent high blood glucose level that causes it, just because it affects the vagina or penis doesn't mean to say that urine is the cause. The whitening of skin with the red spots in most cases but not exclusively so, tend to be external and have no contact with the urinary tract systems.

"Nasty for babies. "

The only time I've had it was when breast feeding. It kept passing back and forth, nipple to mouth bless her.
