I'm watching it and reading the books at the same time.

There is something missing for me that I can't get enthiastic about... Apart from James McAvoy

I’m going in cold how does it compare?

There’s a lot still to explore about the comparison with our world and Lyra’s though

I loved them. The books are far better but I think they did a good job so far.

The books are great and this is a good adaptation.

My only criticism - and it's a minor one - it's not in 4K HDR.

Only seen Ep1 so far but it looks ok - far better than the dross that came out as a movie - like many book based movies, they never quite catch the feel of the books or change the story too much for my liking.

Masked and Distant

Watching it and enjoying it, think the chi animals are a little too much though.

Can’t help thinking they have deviated from the northern lights book to line up the next book which would be hard to do alone and has stumped the film producers to go any further, the deeper you go into the world the harder it is to sell the story on screen and not too much controversy.

"Is it not just the golden compass "

It was called The Golden Compass in America.

It is Northern Lights in the Uk

There is also Subtle Knife and Amber Spyglass

Then a prequel called Once Upon a Time in the North.

Love these books
