I have to do quite a lot of writing in my job. But in all honesty my handwriting hasn't improved since i was about 7.

Has anyone ever managed to improve their handwriting in adulthood? And if so, how?

I am dyslexic, it is more apparent if I write, also my handwriting style varies depending on mood etc. If I want to write neatly I have to concentrate.

My signature is never the same either

I type on a computer where I can, find it much easier.

If I write more slowly my handwriting is much better now and has a bit of style to it compared to that of my yoof.

However I tend to write notes quickly and it just looks like scrawl, so much worse than that of my younger years.

I’m trying to learn to take notes on my iPad, so working on it at the moment. I’ll let you know if I progress enough to post handwritten stuff rather than converting it to text.

I have to a write fair amount daily but luckily I'm pretty much the only person who reads it. Even I struggle to make out what some of it says at times

Sound similar to myself! Unfortunately, unless my docs are hand written, they're not legal.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

My handwriting has deteriorated over the years. It still looks like an adult's but sometimes I struggle to read it.

I write a lot! I tried taking notes on my tablet but I couldn't remember what I had written. I've returned to taking notes by hand and then my full text is typed.

I've always had pretty neat handwriting, I would say it's about the same as when I left school

My little finger isn’t involved at all in handwriting. Do you stick it out like the posh people do when they drink a cup of tea?

That doesn't seem very efficient. Couldn't your industry introduce a docusign verification to typed text?

.

I’m the same. My handwriting has always been terrible, so caps is the only way to make it legible.

If I write in capitals my writing is a lot better even at speed, albeit it is much slower than cursive.

Mine was neat at school, now it's so scruffy I often make notes at work and come back to them and can't actually make out what I've written.... ...just having this problem now as I'm reading the notes I made during my meetings at the exhibition last week....

On the rare occasion that Adobe docs can be used, they still need to be printed out and hand signed. All archives are paper.

yes, I bought books on calligraphy and practised...a lot.

I had good handwriting anyway but that made it into the sort of handwriting that people complimented and asked me to write invitations etc for them.

Then I developed arthritis in my thumb and started using a keyboard a lot and although its still pretty good its nowhere near as good as it was,

In short practice makes perfect

I only use caps if I need to shout in my notes so I find the section. My memory is linked to my handwriting. Once I have written I usually only return to the notes to check quotes or accuracy.

My Own Little World

My handwriting has got worse recently.

I don't really write anything anymore, apart from scrawled notes for myself.

At school I was told to tidy it up as it could be unreadable at times, so I had to take my time and concentrate. I got it pretty neat.

Or you could teach yourself calligraphy.

Might sound stupid but the pen makes a big difference, it's definitely worth while buying a decent pen if you need to do alot of writing

My hand writing is terrible now, a symptom of rarely using a pen to do anything more than sign my name on a doc at work

I can scan documents and, immediately, recognise my entries.

My handwriting is clear and easy to read, and I normally write using a Rotring technical or Mont Blanc fountain pen using non-standard ink colours.

My signature is, however, an embarrassment and changes every single time.

I would really like to have a consistent signature!
