You might presume it's an easy life, but at any single garden party or Royal Variety show , they are expected to greet every person invited and make pleasantries with them all. On their feet for hours and always smiling. The press watching every move and snapping a photo if they happen to look bored, have a migraine or dare to pick their nose. Under constant scrutiny. I think they certainly have luxury and privileges , but they work incredibly hard and for so many days without a day off. | |||

Given the amount of work they do with charities, not forgetting many of the Royal Family have set up their own charities, and the amount if Joe Public thet interact with on a daily basis, I'd say they're very much in touch with Joe Public, I'd also say it's a damn site more in touch than the MPs who are actually supposed to serve us locally and nationally.

She's 93 for fucks sake and still working her arse off. Any idea how much prep goes into a royal engagement, how many details, how many faces she has to know and remember? How many speeches she has to review before reading, how many times a speech has to be practised before you can read it without a stumble? No? The idea that she just rocks up, cuts a ribbon and fucks off again is, how can I say this without a holiday, "naive" at best. Of course she doesn't wash her own knickers, she's the queen FFS. So much bile is directed to the Royal Family born of envy and jealousy. Frankly ridiculous..... I’d agree! They also do a hell of a lot for tourism! However - especially in light of Philip’s increasing frailty I think she should be able to stand down, let someone else do the work and enjoy what time they have left away from the public eye! I have much respect for you, Mr Byron But I'm not buying ya story They do feck all And are so out of touch with what its like to be Joe Public, its scary They help raise money for charities, charities that you and I may be grateful for one day. None of us know how much work they put in behind the scenes. When William was working with the air ambulance, he donated his salary to charity and helped to save lives, for which we are personally grateful for
Given the amount of work they do with charities, not forgetting many of the Royal Family have set up their own charities, and the amount if Joe Public thet interact with on a daily basis, I'd say they're very much in touch with Joe Public, I'd also say it's a damn site more in touch than the MPs who are actually supposed to serve us locally and nationally.
None of the Royal Family chose to be born into that life, and yet they carry their duties out every day.
And yes, lots of people work just as hard for a lot less.
But most of us get to retire at 65.
Her Maj is 93 and still working her ass off and little sign of slowing down.
So many knocking her wealth and privelige, just shows where the bitterness and anxst lies.
Retire at 65? Unlikely, but when I do retire I won’t maintain the same income.
