No, no creme eggs...
But Crumpets... Or do you call them piklets? @
Do you eat them raw, toast them, but still soft or do you enjoy a cripsy crumpet?
Personally i like them near on burnt, proper crispy, with lashings of salted butter.
Any crazy topping combinations you fellow crumpet eating fabbers enjoy?

Always called the piklets growing up
I assumed it was a regional thing as once I moved south, only ever heard them refered to as crumpets.
As for how I like them.
Well done, crispy on the outside, but still fluffy in the middle, with a great big lump of proper butter melting into them |

I prefer a dam good cheese muffin, cut in half, toasted, real butter, slice of ham, and the crowning glory a runny poached egg on top so when you cut it the yolk combines with the ham, butter and cheesy muffin |

A lady i work with, she eats them raw... Which i found rather odd... She thought i was odd for toasting them...
Goes to show, we are all different and what one person likes, is not necessarily what the next does.
Give me a slice of toast any day |

"Of all the things I've read about on this forum raw crumpets is in my top 5 deviant acts!
In fact it may be number 1!"
Raw is a bit weird. But not as weird as eating them with a knife and fork |

I like them crispy, the bottom almost burnt. Lots of salted butter that soaks through. Then a slice of local cheese on top that I usually pick off and enjoy with the butter it’s picked up from my crumpet.
For breakfast I want crumpets please |

I think raw is weirder. What about raw with a knife and fork? |

"Toasted to a golden brown colour with either marmite or strawberry jam for me please "
My choice also.
Have happy memories as a child of sitting in front of an open fire toasting crumpets using one of the old fashioned toasting forks. |

Grill the backside off it so it's nice and firm, flip itt over sand let the top begin to harden before smearing some butter over the top and allowing to bubble up and ooze across through the holes and across the surface for a minute or so.
Yum.
Eat with a cup of hot tea and try to avoid the excess dairy dribbling down your chin. |
