"Well if they haven’t pack it up, straight away, tipping Lego out of box makes a tremendous noise and could wake them.
I have played with lego long after my kids have gone to sleep " .

"Hey everyone, how long after the kids have gone to bed is it okay to play ??"
I think it is acceptable for you to play when they are asleep if you are their parents but not one of you to play with a random stranger. |

It's easy to get lured into finishing off a Lego build they have abandoned when tidying away.

I wish I had kids, only for the Lego though. |

"Am I the only one who interpreted “play” as wank??
I think that is perfectly acceptable when the kids are in bed. "
Me too, and that’s what I thought he meant to be honest... but he hasn’t clarified either way, so.... |

I liked the long ones for starship support struts.
I love Lego.
I got lost in a museum at 35 yes of age because they had a Lego exhibition with tables to build stuff at and I decided to make a twin turret castle.
Ex and kids appeared round the corner as my friend and I were really getting the hang of spires and said they'd been searching for about an hour |

I spent all night once building a helicopter after the kids were asleep, it was multicoloured and amazing, the blades turned and everything. They looked at me like I was some kind of freak in the morning |

"Never with kids present "
My sons are well grown and have their girlfriends round for "sleepovers" so now I will have a trusted FWB over if I'm in a vanilla mood. My disposable income has been much better not having to half in on hotels so much.
My sons are in their twenties and mature enough to deal with their parent having an actual sex life. |

My son and I used to spend ages building stuff only to see it fall apart if played with! I was more upset than him

Haha me too, spend all day building, then you're cringing when they start bashing it about. |

"Kids have brand new gaming console! I’ve left alone all day kids asleep so I think it’s time to relieve some stress on COD "
Have they played on it yet? I think wait till next weekend. Tonight is just wrong. |

It really hard as a single parent, I know all too well. When you have very young children the only sort of down time you get is when they are asleep. I think you have to find your own way, it is a controversial issue. You can't let others dictate how you parent. It's about risk management. Your kids are always first priority. So you need to weigh up the risks and how you can remove or minimise the risks. You need to ask is it possible to keep your kids totally unaware that other people have visited and can you ensure these people don't pose a safety risk to your kids? And of course if you can't realistically ensure these things then it has to be a no. Parenting is a lot of sacrifice. Personally for me a lot depends on how well you know the person your meeting. I wouldn't be inclined to invite strangers round. Trust is vital when letting someone in to the bubble that is also your kids home. |

He needs to “test” it be fair. Nothing worse than seeing their sad little faces when it doesn’t work. It’s every grown-ups duty to test a console. |
