Yesterday I passed a curtain and blinds shop who have their window display covered in Xmas decorations. When do you put your decs up, personally I go for 1st Dec. I don’t mind early decorations but plz god can we save the Xmas songs as late as possible |

"15th Dec
Family tradition
It's my cousins birthday, she lived with us growing up.
My mum wouldn't celebrate Christmas until we'd celebrated her birthday "

My son's Birthday is the 21st of December and I was the same. We would put the tree up, but other decs and anything else went up on the 22nd.
And woe betide anyone who bought him one present for both

We don't really have a set day; it's when we are both off and can spend the day bickering about my perfect tree/decoration ratio and listen to Christmas music. This year it might be the second week of December.
I think early is beginning of November but after that, it's fair enough. |

Although saying that some yrs I don't bother with all the fancy bits, just put a small 3' tree up.
I've always put my dex up with my children.
They spend alternate Christmas with their dad, from the 20th - 27th
This year we're away 13th-17th, then they off to their dad.
Not much point for 2 days

"The first weekend in December mine will be up. Fairy lights everywhere you can think of I do sneak the odd set of lights in beforehand by popping them in a vase or similar "
Do you use the battery operated fairy lights for that or mains? I want to try it but worry the batteries sometimes don’t last long enough in them. |

One of my best friends was born on Xmas day
I always buy her 2 pressies.
When my eldest was at school, every summer we went to a big BBQ for his friends birthday, was only when he turned 18, I found out he was also born Xmas day, so his mum threw his party in July! |

I use both. My tree and main lights are all mains operated but little sets here and there I often use batteries. They do last quite well. |

Get some spare batteries in though just in case. I would hate for you to be without fairy lights on Christmas Day |

"Mine are up. Judge if you want, I'm going to sit here in my grotto eating mince pies and not give the tiniest of shiny shites."
You lucky thing! Do you sit there with just the Christmas lights on and candles? I would |

The joys of living alone, I love just having the fairy lights on even if it means I can't see a thing |
