So many seem to believe this sort of thing in one form or other, often the young.
The government and food, the church, the West.. all out to get you.
Still, got to go a 6ft lizard is looking through my window...

Always worth keeping an open mind but retaining healthy scepticism. I'd certainly not invest much time and energy into them, except where they are highlighted as important and with dangerous implications, And credible too.
Governments have used the process to divert attention, hide and ridicule the consequences or processes that they are involved in. They may be amongst the most active users of theory creation over long periods.
What helps to pile on the perception that they are all stupid fantasies is the high volume of people who are attention whores today. They'll use any tool to grab attention and potentially act as useful covers for state actors who are involved behind the scenes. |

Oldest story in town.
Big bad evil power against poor good old soul. Add some chaotic information from a chaotic event and you have a story with a plausible plot. Except its usually bollocks. |

Some are total bollocks. Some conspiracy theories turn out to be quite true.
Governments and powerful people do hide things, do attack their own people/troops, do questionable things, do intentional harm.
Not so much a believer in the illuminati, but I do feel there is a powerful group of people whose whims we all dance to, have been dancing to all our lives, whether we like it or not.
I feel we live in a faux-democracy that is really just rampant capitalism, everything decided by business and economic leaders. Life isn't all about the buck. The checks and balances are there purely to stop any old person/country entering that powerful group by force, or merit.
Political systems only seem to allow for two sides of same coin.. We will allow the plebs a choice.. of two things we're happy to go along with for the time being. In order so that the really important things that need changing.. the things that hurt the majority, but profit the minority.. won't ever be changed.. unless it's by force.
I want that day to come, but in the same breath, it's a day I fear above many others. One I don't really want to be a part of. |
