Bloomin hilarious at times! Some super witty people on here!
Haven't laughed so much in ages as at the discussion about 'to spit or not to spit'! Love it!
Some real moralisers on here too though! Strange given that we're all swingers! |

I've been here pretty much more or less every day for the last three and a half years.
Yes, the forum changes when people leave and again when new people start to join in.
I'm not sure whether or not the forums are as good, better or worse than when I started. There are plenty of repeat threads, but that is to be expected I suppose as new members ask questions already raised by others on previous occaisions.
I get a lot of enjoyment by joining in here and I'll carry on till I decide I've had enough |

I do like the forums, I love debate and reading others' opinions.
Admittedly I am finding it less interesting than it used to be. It could be that I have things going on in the real world which I'm concentrating more on, so I'm less inclined to read and post on as many threads |

I've been here for about four years and using the forums for just over three years.
I think Jack has been here longer than he thinks cos he's been here longer than me.
If I didn't like it I wouldn't come and read. I come in several times a day when i'm working from home. I like to read messages while I drink tea or coffee.
There are some characters on the forums that I'd miss if they went and some that pass through my mind from time to time as they went off into the ether.
I don't take much notice of the lull in activity. It's always peaks and troughs. Holidays or busy lives. It slows , it picks up.
I enjoy reading some posts - not all. I find some posts very intelligent , insightful and witty. I enjoy some silly posts but hate the 'Would you' ones.
I find some posters to be level headed, fun , fair and stable. There are some that are the thickest , nasty shits on the planet.
I love the wit of some. I don't mind the advice or moralising of others. I will never have any respect for those that are unafraid to say what they feel but make veiled remarks about others. It happens quite often. Those are the lowest type. Coming close behind them are the 'ever so sweet butter wouldn't melt types.'
It's there. I use it. If it wasn't here would I miss it ? Nope - I'd find another one. |

Joined FAB two and a half years ago, and started to use the forums right away.
People come and go, same topics keep cropping up.
However, it is fun and frivolous, and is still a great way to waste time for me.
Long live the forums! |

Some monkeys come, some monkeys go and some struggle to move so drift into obscurity!
For me its worse that a year ago but better than 3 years ago i think the cleaver humour has gone over the last 18 months. |

I find them the same as any forum on anybsite. There are people who like to have fun, others that like to be controversial, others that like to be unkind and bully, some who like to have serious debates and some who need to get a life.

I like the meaty discussions, though I prefer it when they don't get personal just because someones views are different.
I like posters that aren't afraid to share their opinions and would rather be liked by some people for being themselves rather thanm be liked for everyone.
I like the fact that people posting on here give a far truer reflection of themselves than a profile ever will. |

Have got to know some really nice people off the forum, and really enjoyed the banter. Day to day life is quite serious for me, so it's nice to kick my shoes off and just relax. I guess I don't offer advice as there's plenty who can do that, but I do offer an insight into my own feelings.

i agree...i think some people get dead excited when they join a forum and over post...especially if they haven't used many forums before...it leads to them dominating for a couple of weeks and all the posts getting v similar.
They either calm down or wander off to something new.
Add in a couple of great thread starters having left as well. However new ones will appear, or the old ones may even come back |

I am not new on this site have been on and off a couple of times over the past 2 years and have seen many different people come and go and many still here poddin on regardless.
I just come on here for a laugh at times and post a load of jibberish jibber jabber thats not to be taken serious at all if im really honest.
I find the forums a whole melting pot of very different people. There are some very educated people on here then those who are as thick as two short planks just like meeeee. There are those that like a laugh like me. And there are some who are far to serious all the time and think that they have to offer all of there wisdom like life as we no it will end unless we take on board everything they have to offer and say. ( I just tend to wind those types up but again I am never serious at all when I post
Would I miss the forums erm maybe for about 10 seconds until I switched on the Tv or did something else to ease away being bored.com |

They feel less fun than they were a few years back… even the disagreements were fun back then.
A lot of people seem to put less effort in to what they post now…. it’s got to the point I can’t be arsed to put that much effort into it anymore because it just seems a waste. The popular threads seem to be the ones you could train a chimp to post in.
I’m sure there were just as many sycophants back in the day, but their numbers were balanced out by more individual characters.
I think bland is a suitable word for a lot of what I skim over.
Oh and one more thing…… sometimes there are so many vanilla flavoured attitudes knocking about I have to check to remind myself what site I have just logged on to.
But it could just be the rose coloured tint of nostalgia.

I agree with every single word of that. Not often I do but in this case the phrase 100% is finally relevant.
Two points. What's vanilla attitude to you ? I'd be interested. P.M it if you cba in here.
You didn't factor in the jaded element. I think that's the most important factor for me which I forgot to mention earlier.
Even if those egos who 'percieve' themselves to be the corner stone of forum life ( and it always makes me smile that they do ) were to return in droves - I bore of them.
I prefer my doses small. |

As is always the case when these type of threads turn up....it gets bitchy posts from people talking about other peoples or their posts
To the OP...I like to read them because most of the time they are funny/ educational / a shock sometimes at some of the things I have learnt ( won't mention two cups I promise ) they sometimes have great debates mixed in with really silly threads. I like the mix. |

Polo and Granny have summed it up!
This used to be a forum that excited, but it has now become very bland. As mentioned, lots could be replied to by chimps and I am not even sure they need to be trained!
I don’t know if this is the case or not, but there was a very definite shift a while back and new rules were put in place, perhaps after the takeover by new owners? This was to make this a “happy place” but all it has done is given rise to the “would you” threads. For goodness sake, you can’t even call someone stupid now, I got a 24hour time out for that!
What would liven it up? Well, another forum where when you post you accept that people may well argue with you and actually argue properly instead of this thinly veiled name calling that goes on at the moment! Another site we are on did exactly the same, but after a couple of years it was obvious that the posts became almost childlike and it was changed back.

You are of course right! But in the past certain posters have been ridiculed for posting what to them was a reasonable question or statement! Also the perceived “clique” holds people back. I know, I know.. Most can’t see one on here, but that is really just because you are in it! In reality it isn’t a clique, but to an outsider, all the banter and attitude between regular posters can be very intimidating! I believe that new people would see it as such.
Of course, we could do what they do at swimming pools and have a “trainer” forum! Us regulars only post all cuddly things and agree with what newbies say… Then they could move up to the “Intermediate” forum and that is where they get a bit of banter back, still broadly agreeing but with an edge.
Once they get to the “Full” forum, they get all the normal stuff that 13 year olds throw around and they can be very cutting! And finally on to the “Advanced” forum. Thrown into the deep end and they either sink or swim… That is where all of the posters are who have cut their teeth on the bump and grind of the forum proper! US!
